Cuts thin crust pizza and thinner foods with no problems. It doesn't have the clearance for something like a pan meat lovers pizza as you would get with a traditional open pizza cutter.     • Novelty 'Sawing' Fun for Average Pizzas and My Father-in-Law!

My father-in-law is the hardest person to shop for. I cannot tell you have many times I have bought him a plaid shirt, or fish hook, or thermos, because I have no idea what to get a man who has basically everything he wants and needs. He has always been a wood-worker in the past, so I though this pizza wheel would be the greatest unique gift. I was right! I understand some of the other reviewers concerns about deep dish pizzas. And let me tell you, I would love to live near Chicago where they are the norm!!! But our local pizzaria makes a relatively thin crust pizza that this cutter can 'saw' into wedges in a flash. It is also great for the typical frozen 'Tombstone' type pizza. He loves it. I am thankful I finally seem to have some creativity (thanks to Fred and Friends). Super fun product that does a good job. *Remember - Fred and Friends is not Williams Sonoma. This gift is supposed to be more fun than superior in functionality. I bought this because when our “traditional” pizza cutter broke, I showed this one to my husband and he excitedly gasped, “Is that a CIRCULAR SAW PIZZA CUTTER?!” It made his face light up like a little kid’s on Christmas. So we got it. It is very cute. It looks, feels, and moves like a miniature circular saw. It was ready to use out of the box, and it’s relatively easy to take apart to wash (the manufacturers were pleasantly thoughtful when it came to making sure you can clean this thing properly). However, it did not come with a blade cover, so when you’re not using it, there’s just a sharp blade right there in the open. This made storing it very difficult. Because of its unique shape, it doesn’t fit into any silverware drawer organizers. You can’t hang it on a hook. There’s too much plastic and not enough metal to stick it to a magnetic knife holder. Tossing it in a drawer with a pile of other utensils is dangerous because of the exposed blade. So how the heck are you supposed to store the thing? It also, sadly, does not cut very well. The blade is sharp but hard to maneuver due to the shape and size of the “handle”. It’s also a bit hard to see where exactly the blade is while you’re cutting, so it’s hard to know if you’ve cut all the way through your pizza or not. Overall, this was a very cute gift and it makes us smile, but it’s not very practical. We bought a “normal” pizza cutter with a blade cover from the grocery store. We’ll keep this for the giggles. This cutter would be great as a gift for a carpenter, builder, or as a white elephant gift for holiday parties. But don’t rely on it as your main tool for pizza slicing! ... show more

We are remodeling our kitchen/house and are eating lots of pizza because it is, unfortunately, cheap and easy when your kitchen has many holes in it. Our life seems to be all about tools these days, so it was the perfect spontaneous gift for us/my husband. He absolutely loves it and it is out on display for all to see. The blade is impressively sharp and is of decent size for a regular pizza - not sure how it would do for a really deep pizza.
