  • BIG POWER, small package
The media could not be loaded. Edit: The added video shows how to use the parallel kit, both as parallel and Series. You can also see how easy they start and hear how quiet the 4600 runs. I already own a Genmax GM3500iAED generator. It works great, is lightweight, very quiet and easy to move around. I now own a pair of Genmax GM4600iAEDC generators as well. Wow! Another 600 watts of power in the same small package. The 3500 and 4600 share some of the same features. Both have remote start, both are dual fuel and both are about the same weight and the same dimensions. Both are very quiet running generators. First both are very good machines. Comparing the two, this is what I have found. The GM3500iAED puts out 3500/3200 watts on gasoline and 3100/2800 watts on propane. It has one 30 Amp 120 volt L5-30 twist lock plug w/adapter, two 20 amp 120V AC outlets and dual USB outlets. The 3500 is parallel capable but not series capable. The GM4600iAEDC boasts 4600/3800 watts on gasoline and 4200/3500 watts on propane. The 4600 has one 30 Amp 120 volt TT-30R plug, two 20 amp 120 volt Ac outlets. It also has one 12 volt outlet and comes with a 12 volt USB & USB C adapter. Since both the 3500 and 4600 unit have remote start, there is an internal starting battery which charges while the unit is running, but the 4600 also has a battery charging port on the front panel for easy battery charging. The 4600 is capable of running not only parallel with another generator but also in series with another generator. This means not only can you increase the wattage you might need, but also you have the ability to not only produce 120 volts but also 240 volts (with the Parallel kit, sold separately). The 4600 also has an LED light atop the front panel making operating it the dark much easier, no flashlight needed. Both machines are very well built. If the 4600 had been available back when I got the 3500, I would have chose the 4600. The 3500 continues to serve me well, but the 4600 with it's additional power and capabilities, makes it a better generator for my needs. I have ordered the parallel kit and will update this review once I try it. I am looking forward to having a 240 volt option for my power needs as well as the ability to increase my 120 voltage to about 7000 watts when needed. ... show more

  • got a lemon. 2 hrs run time was all it had in it.
Ran good initially, after 2 hrs total run time, Generator died with no spark. I bypassed co2 sensor, low oil cutoff, replaced coil/ plug wire, still no spark,

  • Perfect in every way.
This generator exceeds all my expectations. I’ve had a dozen generators over 25 years, and this is by far the best overall. Excellent, clean power output, as advertised, arrived complete, on time, perfect condition. Use with my whole house/interlock system to run all my 120v circuits and equipment. During Hurricane Helene, ran 18 hours straight, used about 2/3 jug of propane. Everything works as expected, remote control, hour/power meter, fuel gauge, CO shut off (I tested it), and as soon as $$$ allow, I’ll add another generator and the series connection box to run my 2 ton bedroom central air. The sound is as expected, my neighbor on the side where I run it says he must listen carefully to hear it. I think it’s the tuning of the sound that makes it less objectionable. Or it could be quieter running on propane, but I have nothing scientific to support that. I just know that based on my experiences the sound level is very low. Love this thing! ... show more

  • stoped working on propane
no more than 3h on the generator and 1.5 years old did not want to start on propane. It ends up the propane regulator it came with failed , they sent another that works. Also the battery keeps on dying on the older model with no main switch It made me realized it’s made of super cheap parts that won’t last and it’s hard to trust it for emergency backup. ... show more

  • Happy addition to my Coffee Trailer
The unit came with excellent instructions. It was very straightforward to add oil. It was well illustrated how to connect the battery. I elected to manually start the generator with the pull cord, knowing that the system had to fill with gas. It started 3rd pull. I gave it an oil change after 7 hours - the used oil was very clear which pleased me. I start it at 6am every day and it powers a fridge, water pumps, heater, coffee grinder, lights, display lights, heating element. The electric start works as it should. It is a very quiet machine. Only concern is the chain on the fuel cap. It's too weak and I know it will get wound up and break. What a minor problem 😀 ... show more

  • Received a used generator. Generator doesn't work. Very disappointed.
After seeing so many good reviews on Youtube about this brand... was excited to try it out. But..... I received a used generator yesterday. The box looked old and re-taped. This is when I thought.. i should take some pics of it as I opened it up. When i opened the box, the accessories bag was already opened and the manual was folded and crumpled. There was oil on the unit, and the oil-fill funnel still had oil residue. Upon closer inspection, the unit already had oil in the engine, gasoline smell in the tank. The battery was already connected (fire hazard) and a little bit of what looked like oil coming from the propane connection. When i tried to turn it on. The unit showed 15 Hours on the clock already. Of course the unit would not start up at all. Pretty disappointed, especially since Hurricane Milton is bearing down on us. How a used generator could be sent out is a big mystery... But someone at Genmax screwed up big time. Amazon customer service was excellent. I reported this 3 hours after receiving the item to make sure there was no way anyone could assume that i used the item for 15 hours already. Now i need to figure out how to dispose of this item... as it is a non-returnable item. ... show more

  • Concerned
Just purchased two of these with the series parallel kit. Immediately noticed one was missing a screw near the handle. Neither came with the magnetic dip stick as advertised. Now I am wondering what’s missing that isn’t as obvious.
