I ordered this because we are in a power outage. This generator has been running for the past 35 hours and is easily handling our power needs. Currently have the fridge and various phone and laptop chargers and lamp connected on one line all the time. Then, as needed, running the coffee maker, garbage disposal, toaster, microwave, washer, dryer, charing the backup sump pump, and will be trying the induction hot plate and dishwasher. It's very quiet and really fuel efficient. We have been able to get 11 hours on each tank of gas. Just did the first oil change at the 36 hour mark, the photo shows the shop rag with the oil that came out of the generator. It looked good with no shiny bits in it. Before filling the generator with oil I marked the oil bottle that came with the generator with a sharpie. I filled that bottle to the sharpie mark so I got the right amount of oil needed for the change. The generator also has a oil catch/guide so when you drain the oil it directs the oil out of the enclosure which is a really nice touch. I own a Honda EU2000 which cost $1200 and love it but I wanted a 3500 and didnt want to spend $2000+. So I bought a Generac 3500iO last year, used it on my farm that does not have electric and it worked great. Strong generator. I put it in storage for a year in 2021, then came back to my farm in 2022. Filled it with fuel, and it started easily on the 2nd pull. I put about 10 hours on it this year and still works perfect and starts very easy. Love it just as much as my Honda so far. And its very quiet, super pleased with this product. Its easy to carry with the medal frame. Love it. I like the open frame so that the engine gets plenty of air and runs cool. Perfect balance and design and function. So I just ordered a 2nd so I can run parallel for more power when needed. Highly Recommended. 2 generators for twice the power and half the price. This is the only brand I could take a chance on other then Honda. Generac did a great job with this model. ... show more

    • Started right up super easy, runs my space heater

I put oil and gas in it and went to pull the cord and ended up getting a bad grip on it so it kinda slipped out my hand but just that little half pull on the very first start up and this thing fires up and was running. I grabbed my 1800w space heater and it ran that no problem and then I grabbed a hair dryer and that was no problem. Efficiency mode is quiet. I've randomly started it a few times since just cause I almost can't believe how easy it is to start and it cranks right up. Costumer service is good too, I called them before purchasing to make sure it'd power my space heater and they told me it would and then I called back with another question about the Co sensor and they answered that too. GP2500i.. a solid generator for the money. I purchased for parents considering portability, noise and ease of operation. It is an easy start but not as easy as stated in directions. I have found that w 4-6 slow pulls to “prime” BEFORE you try to start usually works. After the 6th slow, easy pull, then give it a good hard pull and it starts right up. Not easy for seniors. Father ended up sore after repeatedly trying to start per directions. It isn’t exactly quiet but it is quieter than a larger unit. I have a honda 2000 which starts easier and is a bit quieter but it’s more than double the price. Overall, pleased with the purchase and quality, just need a bit more priming when starting. Also a bit much for seniors to move so I made a small platform with wheels so they could roll it into place. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. These are great little generators. I work with a non-profit that does disaster response and the other small generators that we have used for years are no longer being manufactured. When we started looking for replacements, I wanted something with a good brand name behind it, small and compact, powerful, and easy to transport and maintain. These are usually used when there are disasters and people need them to provide temporary power for their homes. I ordered one of these to test it and then ordered nine more once I determined this was what we wanted. These are compact and have the frame all the way around them for ease in carrying and for protection. They are super easy to start and run smoothly and efficiently. One great thing about these is that they come with everything you need to get started (sans gas) in that there is a funnel and a bottle of oil that contains the exact amount you need. I wish there was somewhere to store the funnel and tools that come with it, but I'll likely tie a mesh or other bag to them. I'm very pleased so far and will use these for our next disaster. One tiny little thing that could improve these is if they would include holes for your hands in the box so they would be easier to grasp and move. That's a very small thing but when you are moving lots of these just a little handhold on each side would be so helpful. ... show more

We had a round of bad weather come through Houston with a couple of tornados and were without power from about 6pm till 5am the next morning. Had the generator running about a hour after the tornado hit so we had it running from 6pm till about 5am in the morning. I topped the generator off with gas around 11pm and went to bed so it ran perfectly fine no issues until I woke up at 5am. I didn’t want to over work it so I had just the fridge and some fans plugged into it and also I only had it running on eco mode. Very quiet machine. Enough to where we were having some quality time with the neighbors out in the garage while it was running behind us and could hear eachother just fine. Would recommend ... show more
