I hate how eating a salad involves repeatedly stabbing at it to collect a mouthful onto the fork. So I buy a salad, then I dump it into this device and crank it ten times. Instant chop salad. Much easier to eat. Much more uniform texture and flavor. As a result, I'm eating more salads. There are a couple of things that are not great about this chopper: It's not what I'd call sturdy, for one. It's made out of all plastic and I'm sure the arm will snap sooner than later. Also, when I wash the lid, liquid gets inside and the lid can't be opened, so there's no way to completely eliminate the water inside. I ordered this product to chop pecans. It does chop them to the right consistency without any remaining dust or being too fine. The blades are plenty sharp enough. The handle to turn the blades is plastic and feels a bit weak. Not sure how long it will last. Worry it’s going to break but overall it’s a great product and does the job. We stopped using our tiny nut grinder and use only this one for our commercial kitchen chopping nuts for chocolates and caramel apples. ... show more

Used primarily to chop vegetables for pico de gallo (note: this will not create nicely diced bits). Makes quick work of decently sized vegetable chunks without much effort. The more you crank, the more mushy the end product will be - a little trial and error will be required to get the consistency of 'chop' you desire. As other reviewers have noted, use extreme caution when handling the blade assembly, especially when removing or reinstalling the plastic guards that cover the blades or when cleaning the blades. They are kind of difficult to remove and with the unwieldy nature of how the blades are oriented, it is very easy to get a nasty cut. To avoid this, I use one hand hold the blade assembly by the top of the assembly opposite the blades and a knife (or some other prying tool) in the other hand to gently pry to guards off the blades. ... show more

I expected an easy chopper. The handle skips with even a little resistance. I didn’t expect it to work like the electric ones but the blades are so sharp they should cut up what you want it to. While cleaning it is very easy to cut yourself.

    • Cut my thumb tip while removing the blade covers

I was very excited to get this product because I have used a similar product previously and I had loved it. However this one in particular is a hazard really. I bled for thirty minutes straight on opening it because the chopper blades have a plastic cover that you need to remove to use the chopper. While the blades do have a warning that they are sharp, there were no instructions on how to remove it. It sucks that the manufacturer would be so irresponsible while manufacturing/selling such things. I ordered a white and it just looks cheap plastic-y white. ... show more
