Features

  • Motion sensor lights: The battery powered motion sensor triggers Cync and C by GE smart bulbs, smart plugs, and smart switches to turn on when someone enters the room. Place the motion sensor on a shelf or table, or mount with the included brackets.
  • Programmable motion sensor: Schedule your wire-free motion sensor to deactivate during certain hours or turn light bulbs on softly at nighttime. Make any room in your house have motion activated light. Replaceable battery rated to last over two years.
  • Save money and energy: Lights can be turned off after 5 minutes if no motion is detected by the motion sensor. Ambient light detection keeps lights from turning on when natural light fills the room.
  • Automatically turn off devices: Connect this smart motion sensor to a Cync or C by GE Smart Plug in the Cync app, and the motion sensor will automatically turn off devices like flat irons or space heaters if no one is in the room.
  • Expansive motion coverage: With multiple positioning options, it's easy to get expansive motion activated light anywhere in your home. The motion sensor's pivoting head and 105 degree coverage detect areas up to 20 feet.

  • Only works with Cync wall switches and other Cync devices
Style: Motion Sensor
The product seems to work exactly as designed. I'm using it to turn on a Cync wall switch when I open my closet doors instead of needing to turn the light on manually. It turns the lights on with motion and then light goes off after a minute of no motion. I didn't intentionally purchase this motion sensor for this purpose though. I wanted to use it to turn on lights only when I had motion in my garage and not turn off when motion wasn't detected. Since it wouldn't do that I decided to keep it and replace the light switch on my closet. If this switch showed up in Alexa I could have got around the problem, but it doesn't. ... show more

  • inexpensive motion sensor device
Style: Motion Sensor
Setting up the motion sensor is a breeze and a cost-effective alternative to Phillips' offerings. However, pairing them with GE light bulbs can be a bit tricky. It often takes two to three attempts to connect each light bulb to the motion sensors successfully. To make it work, I had to reset each light bulb and update them before they could be paired with the sensors. There is a slight latency when it detects motion and turns on the lights, and the field of view is not as wide as I hoped for. The field of view is probably about 90 to 95° wide. Overall, it does the job but doesn't exceed any expectations. ... show more

  • Didn't work with motion light switch
Style: Motion Sensor
I wanted to add this to a GE CYNC motion sensor light switch because the light switch was not detecting me in parts of the room. Never got it working even after talking with tech support. I wonder if they're meant to be compatible?

  • This Motion Detector only works with other GE Cync Devices.
Style: Motion Sensor
We are using this along with a GE Cync smart outlet. We are using this in our Church Nursery to let the Video Team know that someone is in the Nursery and may want to watch the service so they can turn the signal on to them.

  • Pro Tips
Style: Motion Sensor
Tip 1: To remove the battery cover, you need to unscrew it carefully. Use a lot of pressure on the screw head to avoid stripping it. The factory tightened the screw too much, so there's a 50/50 chance of removing it without causing damage. If you can't remove it, return the device, as you won't be able to change batteries. Tip 2: If you're connecting this Motion Sensor to their Smart Plug, keep in mind that the Smart Plug's stay-on time can't be adjusted. When the motion sensor is triggered, the Smart Plug will stay on for five minutes before turning off. This five-minute interval can't be changed in the current version of the iOS app (v6.11.0 build 14256), as well as in the Smart Plug (v1.0.298) and Motion Sensor (v1.3). ... show more

  • Follow these steps
Style: Motion Sensor
During set up we encountered problems having the motion detector function with Cync smart bulbs. Tech Support sent these instructions which solved the problem, when followed EXACTLY as written. Open the Cync app and delele both the Motion sensor and bulbs from your current Home. Delete the Home. Close and restart the app. Place paper clip end in the motion sensor pinhole for three seconds to reset the device. Create a new Home. Add a bulb into your new home. Do not create a group or room for it. When prompted, perform any required firmware update. Add the motion sensor into a new room. When prompted, perform the required firmware updates, Tap done. Set the motion sensor settings to your preference and be sure to disable the ambient light settings feature. Move the Bulb over to the same room as the motion sensor. This process only works if all devices are running current firmware. Good luck! ... show more

  • Use with Cync stuff only
Style: Motion Sensor
Only works with Cync devices (bulbs, switches, etc.). Invisible to Google Home. That said they work quite well. I’m even using two outdoors in places shielded from rain.

  • Works well but not without a few issues.....
Style: Motion Sensor
I have had c by ge light bulbs for about a year now and used Alexa and sometimes Google to control them, however I got tired of always shouting commands to turn on the lights especially since I don't have an Alexa in every room. So I thought this would perfect since it is motion detected instead of voice. However my initial setup was a nightmare. I had my bulbs already synced up with Alexa and my bridge and I thought I could just add motion and that would be all, but nope! I had to reset all 15 lights. I found out that by adding these motion sensors it makes my Alexa voice commands and smart bridge useless, like literally the device is incompatible with it. So if you don't mind giving up alexa/Google voice commands and your smart bridge to control your lights then go for it, I just had no idea. The app even tells you during setup that's it's "not compatible at this time" so my lights are no longer showing up in my Alexa app, bummer. But of course you can use the c by ge app to control the lights but not Google or Alexa. Beside those negatives it works as expected I have my upstairs lights turn on automatically if someone walks up the stairs and same downstairs. You can set the brightness according to the time of day and a timer of how long the lights should stay on to save energy. Also a tip set up your lights FIRST, then add your motion sensors or it will not work, so if your previous lights are already synced up with Google or Alexa you will have to reset your lights then add the motion sensors. Also there will be a firmware update out the box, so I recommend you install that right away. I will update review if anything should change in my review. Thank You. ... show more
