Its tough, aluminum slats are held together by a strong elastomer hinge to eliminate any water and debris from entering your truck bed. I rarely write a product review and felt compelled to write this review as I'm so impressed with the design and quality of this bed cover. It took less than an hour to install and it fit like a glove on my 2023 GMC Sierra 1500 with the pro tail gate. I've had other covers on my previous trucks and this one is superior in so many ways. It's constructed of all aluminum so it will out-last the soft cover ones. Looks great installed as it lays even with the bed top. Each section locks to the bed so that you can ride with the cover folded once, twice, or even with it fully open and resting against the cab (struts lock it in place so that you can actually ride with it fully open). The fact that you can fully open it to rest on the cab means that you will rarely have to fully remove it to access the full bed The quality of the cover is way superior to most of what is produced today. This cover will outlast any of the soft, non-metal top covers (and hard covers that have a non-metal overlay) where the stitching starts to decay rapidly. If you want a rigid flush mount cover,this one is pretty solid. Had several different brands over the last few years.. for under 700 bucks I can't complain. And thats coming from a 1100 dollar bakflip on my last truck..it does come with instructions(but i never looked at them)installation is pretty straight forward. fit,finish &function are all acceptable. Now the down side,it doesn't not fold up as far(only the last 2 panels) fold up.. it does not go flush up to the rear window for full bed use like some of the more expensive options out there.. over all no issues,it fits well,and doesn't not rattle,and it does support alot of weight.i regularly stand on it while washing the roof of my truck. ... show more

This was my first hard top cover and it has been amazing. The install was very easy and if there were any questions I had the video the company puts out on this install answer all the questions. The bed cover is nice and easy to install. The product has a few design flaws. The rubber seals do not seam very durable and don't prevent water infiltration. The corners don't sit flat and don't seal. A good rain will leak about a gallon of water through the corners. I called the manufacturer multiple times and never got anyone who could answer questions or provide solutions. I just started a handyman business and needed a waterproof cover for my tools. The Gator efx fit the bill perfectly. It's affordable, but made of high quality materials. I installed it by myself in about 90 minutes using a lot of care to get all the seals tight. I've tested it since, and no water gets in even in heavy rain at 70mph. Tips: 1. Use the scraps of Weatherstripping from trimming the front seal to fill in the tiny gaps you might have in the front corners after install. 2. If you install the shims under the bed rail, Mark their location on top of the rail with masking tape or chalk. It will make it easier to place the rail clamps directly on the shims. ... show more
