  • If your tomatoes have outgrown their containers, BUY THESE!
Size: 7 Gallons Color: 20-pack
If I could give this 10 stars, I would! If you are transplanting tomatoes, and wondering if these containers will work, read on.... First, I wasn't sure about these bags. How are fabric bags going to look, how are they going to hold up, and what the heck size do I use for my sprawling tomato plants? Am I going to need so much soil that it's going to break the bank? I went with the 7 gallon size. My plants were previously in pots that were 10" and 12". They were about 3' tall and getting so bushy and heavy I had to wrap string around them to keep the outer branches from breaking. In doing so, I could now barely see the tomatoes hidden inside the foliage! I purchased a set of 20 - 7 gallon sized plant bags. And I must say, this ended up being the PERFECT solution for my tomatoes! Each transplant took exactly 1 cubic foot bag of soil. I simply filled up each bag 1/3 full, placed the tomato plant on top in the center, and poured the rest of the soil on top, spreading it around and tucking it down the sides. And WOW what a difference! I highly recommend moving them before watering, as they get pretty heavy! But those handles? They hold up great and do a beautiful job of making moving them much easier! I transplanted these 10 days ago and my plants have TAKEN OFF! They are now racing over the height of the 48" stakes! (See height of plants in before and after photos). I also ordered the 48" plant stakes here on Amazon, they are metal with a plastic protective coating. And 12" stake arms, which allowed me to easily connect the stakes. I ordered a set of 50 stakes for 46$, and 3 sets of 20 arms for 8$ a set. Larger plant varieties got 4 stakes each, and others got 3. Both setups worked BEAUTIFULLY! Not only do they look SO NICE, but this has provided them excellent support, room to grow and spread out, and it has also opened up each plant so that the bees can actually get to the flowers to fertilize, and the tomatoes previously hidden inside can now be reached by the sunlight! These bags are not only beautiful, economical, practical and easy to use, but they are STURDY! Because of their shape and wide base, my plants don't tip over in heavy winds anymore! And they have stood up to 10 days of storms and torrential NC rains and haven't budged or lost their shape! As an avid gardener, finding these bags is a real game changer! I will no longer have a bunch of mismatched pots that I'm trying to find on sale at different places. This looks professional and clean! Mt backyard looks like a nursery! I can not recommend this product enough! These bags are literally PERFECT in every way and I would not change a thing! ... show more

  • All of My Roses Live in These
Size: 7 Gallons Color: 20-pack
I grow about 125 Miniature and Miniflora roses in these pots, with more plants always on the way. I didn't buy this house with a rose garden in mind, so I lack sunny areas. Growing my roses in these pots makes it easy to move them around so that I can rotate them in and out of the sunny patches. Or if a plant gets a fungus or pest problem, I can move it into a quarantine spot. I live in South Carolina, so some of the Mini roses get to be about 5-6 feet tall! The seven gallon size grow bag is good for most of the roses, a few of the more monstrous varieties get transferred into a larger version of these fabric pots. Even so, I can only think of one time that a rose blew over in a windstorm. The weight of the moist soil is a good counterbalance to the foliage. Seven gallons is probably too small for the larger rose types, but my own root Miniatures and Minifloras do fine. Some of my plants are grafted on Fortuniana, and they do eventually require larger pots. The good: These pots provide excellent drainage. I plant exclusively with Promix BX. The pots do not dry out more quickly than regular rigid pots. They are really easy to move around by grabbing the handles and lifting or dragging the pots. Summer sun and winter chill have not affected the color or strength of the material. All of the seams are well sewn. Nothing I use in the garden stains or bleaches the fabric. Also, the price is great! When I give away rose plants, I don't feel too bad about giving away the grow bag along with it, because they are so affordable. The bad: Transplanting is not the easiest when planted with roses. With a regular pot, you can let the rose dry out slightly, run a knife around the edges of the pot on the inside, tip it over, give it a few taps, and slide the rose out in one piece complete with roots and soil. With these, the sides are floppy, so that doesn't work. I wait until (our mild) winter when the roses are dormant, roll the rose canes up in landscape fabric to protect myself from thorns, place the pot on its side on a tarp, and dig around with a hand trowel until I can get the rose out. Then I replace in a larger pot and add back in the spilled soil from the tarp. The Ugly: Let's face it, these are not particularly decorative. They don't really add to the landscape. But I have several dozen of these along the sides and front of my house, and it's not horrible. The rest are in my privacy fenced back yard, and they are just fine. Bottom line, I buy this brand along with a couple of other similar products. One of the brands I purchase is much more expensive, but these bags are just as good in quality. ... show more

  • Great bags and perfect size
Size: 7 Gallons Color: 20-pack
These bags get heavy when filled but I was able to drag them as needed, so glad I didn't go bigger. I grew a lot in these this summer and they held up well. I look forward to using them again next year.

  • Thick and hold up well
Size: 7 Gallons Color: 20-pack
These grow bags have worked well so far. I have not used them for more than one season, so time will tell if they can be reused for more than one season. The fabric is thick, and the handles do not tear. They are breathable, and water can penetrate the fabric, but roots will not. There have been several feet of rain this growing season, and the fabric bags drained themselves, and no plants died or roots rotted. ... show more

  • Perfect size and durable!
Size: 7 Gallons Color: 20-pack
I bought these to plant dahlias. I live in zone 5B. They are the perfect size, as I have been reading that 7 gallons would be a good size. It is thick and durable, easy to carry. I actually made 2 purchases of these to keep some extras on the side. It has been raining the past few days and it seems to have drained well. I was a bit worried that it wouldn’t drain well but I guess it’s a combination of the soil and material of the bag. After 8 days, I have a little sprout from 1 dahlia tuber! ... show more
