The taper, top to bottom, is minimal, making it quite tight when folding sides down to empty it out. Other method is to use tools to dig around rooted soil ball for extraction.Ugh. Should be 1/2" to 1"wider at top but looks to me there's little to no taper on these. Very easy solution design-wise. At no cost manufacturing, but an extra square inch of fabric. Great addition if you're starting your seeds or using it to grow your veggies/ flowers. 10 gallon is deep and wide but sturdy. Black does not fade and it has veen out in the sun and heat, various weather since April or May. They are easy to move around without disturbing your plant.
