  • Good choice for wet leaves, seed pods, small twigs, and other hard to rake lawn debris
I have several typical leaf rakes but this one is unique among them. It fills the gap between flimsy leaf rakes and the heavy steel garden rakes. At 18 inches wide it can easily pull debris directly into a plastic or paper lawn waste bag laid open between your feet. The handle length is changeable to accommodate different tasks and the tines are curved inward at the tips which really makes a difference when raking flattened or wet leaves and pods. Most light rakes will skip over much of them and require several passes to get them all into a pile or container. This rake is steel and the tines are spot welded into the wide body. They are closely spaced which is ideal for gathering pine cones, sweetgum balls, and other odd shaped debris. The rake is coated for rust prevention and should last for many seasons. It is heavier than the plastic rakes so that may be a factor for some individuals but it still rates five stars from me for design, sturdiness, and the adjustable length handle. ... show more

  • Yes, it's heavy duty
Heavy duty metal. All parts have a protective coating. The rods screw together tightly. Took 2 minutes to assemble. The maker has included a nice paper inside asking for you to contact them directly to address any problems with the rake. There is one screw holding the rake to the rod. I see this as the weak point. This screw can brake, the holes can rust. The rake overall is heavier duty, but I can't comment on how long that screw is gonna last. ... show more

  • seems pretty sturdy
This came unassembled, they give you the tools you need to screw the rake part onto the handle and the handle screws together. You can take out one of the sections of the handle if it's too long for you. The rake part itself is not as wide as my other leaf rakes, but this seems sturdier than those. We don't have any leaves dropping yet so I haven't been able to use it for leaves, but I'll update this review if I have any issues with it. ... show more

  • Functional rake, interesting handle
Works as a rake ++ The all metal handle is an interesting idea. It feels solid even with the full length and doesn't wobble or anything. It only take a minute to unscrew if you need it to be shorter or to store it. My only concern is it rusting along each of those joints as the coating wears off the metal. ... show more

  • Highly functional design
We have other leaf rakes, all with the same fan shape and only slightly curved tines. I really like the deep curve of these tines; they hold onto leaves and twigs more effectively than a standard leaf rake. I was skeptical about the sectional handle, but when it's all put together, it feels quite sturdy. It's early yet to give this rake a real workout, but the time will come soon. Leaves are just starting to fall, but with about 18 trees in our yards, in a few short weeks, they will be calf-deep in most of the yard if we don't rake them every day. I'm looking forward to the ease of this rake making the job much easier. ... show more

  • Rake
Good standard rake. It comes in a box and the pieces just have to be attached together (easy assembly). It’s has a good sized head and have not had any issues using it today. Did the job I needed it to

  • Rake Shaft Is Flimsy
I am always leery of gardening tools with long shafts where the shaft has to be assembled. I have seen too many that were flimsy... and unfortunately, this one is flimsy. Additionally, the rake head is not wide enough for me. Assembly is simple... just screw together the shaft sections and then secure the rake head section with the supplied screw and nut using the supplied tools. This rake does a decent job, but I like heavy-duty durable tools that I can purchase once and be set... and this rake probably won’t last me more than a year or two. ... show more

  • Easy to assemble
I've had some garden rakes of the style that we're just not good. I'm happy to say that this one appears to be a good one. The handle pieces fit easily together and they're quite. The rake part is plenty of adjustable. We're just in time for the fall leaves. I anticipate this rake is going to get a great seasonal workout. ... show more
