  • Great for Weeding & Bad Knees
I really like this 2 in 1 gardening stool/pad from MAXPACE. As someone with bad knees who does a lot of gardening this is working well for me. The stool is light weight and easy to maneuver around the yard. The seat is not very wide, but I find it comfortable. (I am a 5’4” average sized woman.) The pad straps onto the stool. You can keep it attached and kneel on the pad with the stool frame on the ground. This gives the pad a little more give and makes it softer on your knees than just the pad on the hard ground. But you also can unstrap the pad and use it the traditional way. In the past I have brought out my small kitchen plastic step stool for sitting on and an old towel for kneeling on. Now I can just grab this stool and I’ll have both items readily at hand. Great for weeding. My knees and lower back are happier. I think this would make an excellent gift for any gardener. ... show more

  • Handy and lightweight
This is a great idea. I used it in the garden today, thankfully we had a break in the weather! First off the kneeling pad is great, nice and thick and made from dense foam. For the tasks I was doing today I used it more than the stool, and it was really great on the knees, the best one I have by far. As for the stool, I was surprised to see how tiny the seat is! You can see in my photo, with my hand stretched out across it for comparison (my hands are average for a woman, medium glove size). I found that if I sort of straddle it, it is fairly comfortable. With the frame fully opened to sit, it's still narrow enough that I could pull it up in between some of my planting beds where the path is pretty narrow. It is not very tall, so sitting on it put me in kind of a crouching position, close enough to the ground to work, while taking pressure off my knees and making it easier to get back up. I'll admit my back was feeling it after a while, from leaning forward, so I think I need to figure out if there's a better position for me to sit or make sure I plant my feet like a tripod for better support. I'm only 5'5", so if you are taller or have long legs the height of this stool might be a consideration. The stool feels surprisingly sturdy. The seat is well stitched from a thick and tough fabric, which is attached securely to the frame. The frame itself is very lightweight, but feels stable. I was a little hesitant sitting on it at first, but felt confident in it after testing it out a little. It says it can support up to 220 lbs. The entire unit folds up fast and is very light, so you can move it from spot to spot as needed while you're working. You can remove the kneeling pad from the frame if you want to, it's only attached with velcro straps. I didn't bother to remove it while I was switching between tasks, but if I was in one place for long, maybe I would. I think this is going to be a great and much used tool for my gardening this year. I'm sure there are plenty of other applications, and it would be easy to keep in the car too. Versatile and well designed, good product. ... show more

  • Foam is harder than most knee foams.
The idea is good and the price is right. But it feels a bit awkward opening and closing. You have to slide up and down the foam when closing and opening the chair. Also, that kind of floor support is more for indoor use. I dont think the frame would last long. Sorry, but cannot recommend it.

  • A GREAT GARDENING TOOL!
It’s great when something is multi functional, and this seat/ knee pad is ideal for offering both a seat and a comfortable pad to kneel on. It will certainly save my back and knees. It’s very lightweight to handle yet durable. The materials used to make this are excellent quality. Being able to fold it flat for storage is a plus. Ideal gift for the outdoor gardener. ... show more

  • Firm, dry kneeling pad but seat feature not so comfortable
The pad is a lot firmer than some others I’ve seen but still more comfortable than concrete, asphalt or damp soil. When opened up and used as a seat the frame makes it uncomfortable. The ability to separate the pad from the frame is a nice feature but I like the way the frame adds a little more height to the already thick kneeling pad. When I removed the pad and strapped it to the top of the folded chair it added welcome height and prevented the frame from digging into my backside. The smooth surface of the pad is a bit softer than the textured one so the user has an option for what they want their knees or rear end to rest on. Again, I highly recommend not using the chair feature as shown in the photo array, strapping the pad above the cloth seat makes it a much more comfortable stool for sitting. ... show more

  • Already my best friend in the garden!
I’m only in my twenties but I want to take good care of my knees and joints so I’ve been using this constantly while out in the garden, fixing fences, etc. It’s super handy to kneel on, sit on, but also holds tools when I need it. I just chuck it in with my tools when I'm going about yard chores and it’s become a new staple for me. ... show more

  • Okay, but small and lightweight.
This review is for: MAXPACE Garden Kneeling Pad and Foldable Gardening Stool 2 in 1, Extra Thick Soft Water-Resistant Comfortable Durable Foam Knee Pad Mat Cushion Garden Kneeler and Seat for Gardening, Mechanics, Work I was a bit surprised upon receiving this. I hadn't even opened it, but it was fairly small and light. Upon opening it, I was pretty surprised. Well it is functional, it is very small. I don't see any issues with using it as a kneeling pad. That seems to be just fine. If you want to take the kneeling pad off, you can just undo the hook and loop straps and remove it. Putting it back is just as easy. You don't need to remove it though. You can just use it on the frame as kneeling pad. The stool part is very small. You better be a fairly small person or your rear is not going to fit on it. It's also very low to the ground. The other concern is the hardware used at the pivot point of the stool. It does not appear to be very heavy duty. I would be concerned about putting my weight on this as a stool. I am too concerned and won't be using it as a stool. I feel like it would be fine for a child or a very small adult. But for most Americans that are above a certain height or weight, I'm not sure you're going to feel confident about sitting on this as a stool. I feel like this is a 3.5 star item, but I'm rounding up to four. ... show more
