Got this for my friend as a birthday present. He loves it!!! TLDR: Great start to Warhammer, but it is not a complete all-in-one kit that will bring you from 0 experience to ready to play a full scale game This kit does not include paint, glue, or faction codexes. After completing all missions, you will still have to learn how to use command points, faction abilities and keywords and strategems from somewhere else. This is a great place to start however, as the missions will progressively introduce you to the basics of more mechanics one at a time. By the end, you will want to replay all the missions with all of the knowledge that you have learned, and then grab full codexes of each army and replay them all again with information from the codexes. ***Glue is not required, as the pieces snap together, however, I strongly recommend grabbing some as the Necron arms don't like staying in place, and their arms are easy to accidentally snap ... show more

This is the single best thing you can buy getting into Warhammer 40k. Basically 2 full armies with amazing terrain for a low price. Just get this.

So after multiple edits on reviewing this item, I think it's a great product, just take your time with these box sets as you can get yourself out of sorts. I grabbed my 40mm bases for my marines before I realized I needed the 32s. Caused me frustration and so one for my own mistake. Sprues we're almost flawless, had a couple thin pegs broken but not a big deal. Value for money is definitely in this box. ... show more

Getting into warhammer, its good start. Like to hobby, build, paint, ect. It was what i have been looking for. Keep in mind this just to start warhammer 40k. I bought few more other kits make sure did not get doubles, but there are choices to make to different models of the same. That works too.

Though the set is 9th edition it still has everything you need to start playing small scrimish games and learning the core basics of Warhammer 40K. Just pick up the 10th edition rules free online
