  • Get it but realize it’s not the full dune imperium game
I didn’t realize this is a lite version of dune imperium. It’s still really good and actually easier to play then the original but I gave it 4 stars just because that was not clear to me when I got it. I thought it was just more of a reskin then a modified version.

  • A faster paced version of the classic Dune board game.
I am a big fan of the Dune board game published in 1979 by Avalon Hills, which was reissued in 2019 by Gale Force Nine. It is one of those games that you definitely have to set aside an entire afternoon to properly play, which makes it a difficult game to actually convince people to play. This 2021 version, which is a tie in with Denis Villeneuve's adaptation of the Frank Herbert novel, is a much more stripped-down version. Many of the mechanics from the original game are present in this version, but there are some changes to make the game more streamline and easily accessible to people who aren't quite into board games as hardcore fans are. Because the game plays over a maximum of 5 rounds, this version of Dune goes by much faster. I've played entire games in under an hour. It doesn't compare to the complex and vastly more strategic original game, but it is a quick and fun game to get people to the table with. While I enjoy the classic Dune board game more, I feel this one will probably see more gameplay because of how quick and easy it is to play. ... show more

  • Mini Dune
Really fun version of Dune that gives it a faster pace. If what you like most about the other Dunes is bartering with each other this version doesn’t have that built into it, although you could just do it anyway. It has crazy tense moments when seeing who outsmarted who in battles. Overall it’s very fun. ... show more

  • Short and to the point
Having played this version and the remake of the 70s Dune, this plays very quick with drastically simpler rules. A good appetizer game when you don't have alot of time, or a sample if you would like the more complex version

  • Amazing for what it is
A lot of people like to poop on this version of Dune but if the OG 2019 “reprint” is too much for you, this is an amazing alternative. It packs a lot of the same stuff in about an hour. Keep in mind naturally it makes the game less deep strategically but that’s a fair trade imo

  • Good board game for strategy/sci fi fans
Box was a bit dinged up, but nothing major. Game is quite fun. I've played it about 8 times now with different groups of friends and they all seem to have fun. Not for ultra casual gamers though. It has a bit of a learning curve, but is much more well balanced late game than alternatives like Catan. The different factions also help keep things interesting! ... show more

  • Great game, terrible packaging
Great game, but terrible packaging. Literally just wrapped it up with no protection and came damaged as you can see from pictures. Advise not to purchase from this seller unless you want to gamble with shipment. This is why you bubble wrap and put a box inside a box.

  • Really well balanced fun area control game.
First of all I think the bad reviews of this game are from individuals who were expecting this remake to be a duplicate of the original dune game made in the 70’s. Thank goodness this game is not. The old game was torture to play and took forever. I love how streamlined and balanced this game actually is. You can setup and play in about 40 minutes with four players and the factions are equally balanced. I love the battle mechanics of this game. Very unique and the traitor aspect makes this game incredibly fun. There are some positive reviews out on YouTube I recommend you watch those to find out if this game is for you. My teenage kids and I played this all through the holidays and had a good time playing it. ... show more
