  • No more game stutter here :-)
This is my 1st AMD build. I originally purchased 2x4gb 16cas G-Skil sticks that weren't on the QVL list for my B450 Asus Tuf Gaming II Plus motherboard. Paired with a Ryzen 2600 processor and a 4gb RX 570. Most of my games played well but with an occasional stutter. GTA 5 had frame fluctuation and the Division 2 was so bad during a lot of action that it was unplayable. Tried troubleshooting everything in Windows 10 that I could think of that could be causing the issues. Updates, trying different video card drivers etc... Seen a post on Reddit where someone mentioned that Ryzen processors work best with at least 16gb of ram and the sweet spot for speed was at 2666mhz set in the bios. After I installed these 2x8gb cas14 sticks and set the 2666mhz in the bios, all of my stuttering issues completely stopped. Now I have solid 1080p performance out of all of my games. Very happy with this Ram. I've always purchased G-skill memory for all of my builds and will continue to do so. ... show more

  • OUTSTANDING!!!!
This kit is amazing. I own two of them and have both kits (32gb total) running in a single system 100% stable. Prior to purchasing two of these kits, I had Corsair LPX 16Gb (2x8gb) 3000MHz CL 16 and could not near the rated speeds or even run the system stable at anything above 2400MHz. I would like to push the ram at advertised CL 14-14-14-14-34 (can do so with one kit but not two ) but the memory controller on the Ryzen processor will not let it (yet). Maybe future bios upgrades will allow me to so. Using a single kit, I was able to push CPU 3.9GHz (1.38V) 100% stable and able to tighten the memory latency to CL 14-14-14-14-28 (1.35V) @ the advertised 3200Mhz. With two kits (equaling 32gb) I was able to push them up to 3600MHz CL 16-18-18-18-35 (1.4V) which makes them overclock-able. I did settle on the following configurations as for my needs gives me 100% stability without pushing my hardware too far and a well balanced system. Anything higher than the clocks mentioned below (specifically cpu) would only run stable on benchmarks, most games and simple applications. It would not run 100% stable on "intensive" applications (software which i use on a daily bases which uses 100% of my complete system). My set up: Asus ROG Hero VI mother board (non wifi) Ryzen 7 1700x OC @ 3.85GHz 1.375V Corsair H115i AIO Gskil Flare X @ 3200MHz (two kits = 32gb ram) CL 14-16-16-16-31 1.4v (with VDDSOC @ 1.05v) Asus Strix Nvidea 1070 (x2 in SLI) Samsung Evo 960 pro M.2 SSD 512gb Segate Firecuda 2tb (x3) Corsair RX850x PSU Corsair 400c Case If anyone is curious, my cinebench score averages 1691 with the above mentioned clocks. Changing memory frequency to anything higher than 3200mhz or changing its latency did not make a significant difference. UPDATE: I played with my system a little more and did some fine tunning. In order to get both kits running at advertised speeds and tightened latencies, I upped the processor voltage to 1.38125V. This allowed me to run 32gb of this ram at 3200MHz CL 14-14-14-14-28-42 100% stable. All other settings remained the same as mentioned above. Cinebench score went up to average 1705. Everything is working great with no hiccups. ... show more

  • low latency with pretty high speed
If you are using ddr4 these are nice.

  • Chintzy RAM heatsinks when compared to the Trident Z line
Well I like that I could enable the DOCP profile in the UEFI/BIOS and this RAM passes all tests I could throw at it. It's super easy. The system I'm using this with is a Ryzen 7 2700x and a Crosshair VII Hero Wifi board. A month ago I seen this Flare 3200 RAM for a much lower price, but I needed this RAM pronto so I paid more for it. Originally I was running Trident Z 3600 CL15 memory with the system but running this RAM in DOCP was buggy and it would cause the BIOS to kick it back to stock settings.... Even though I was passing stress tests. I used the Ryzen DRAM calculator with this higher speed RAM and I found plenty of way to make it work. The Ryzen system was super stable at 3466mhz cl 15. Anyway, I bought the Flare X memory because I'm giving my Ryzen system to my brother for Christmas which will be a killer upgrade from a Core i7-2600k and a Sabertooth z68 board he has. The heatsinks on this Flare X RAM remind me of the old Ripjaws X and Z heatsinks they used to put on their infamous DDR3 memory. The look and feel of the material is the same. ... show more

  • Owned since 2018
I'm way late to a review but.. I've owned the CL14 set since 2018. I have never had a problem with them. Not one. During the early AM4 years (It was nuts) this was the only low latency CL14 kit that didn't have problems. I currently have it stock XMP 3200 but.. I've tightened the timings to CL12-12-12-22, and all other subtimings without problems. So far, best RAM kit I've used hands down. My 5800X3d isn't as picky with subtimings, so I'ts stock XMP 3200 and works fantastic. Dew it. ... show more

  • Doesn't Run DOCP Profile
They are supposed to run at 3200 Mhz at cl 14 but my system would not boot at those settings. I bumped the speed down to 3133 Mhz and it booted right up. So not sure what is up with that. Motherboard: Asus ROG Strix X470-F gaming CPU: AMD 5900X Not the end of the world, just a bummer they won't run at full advertised speeds for me. ... show more

  • So much cheaper in 2023
Got me another pair of these memory sticks for my build i made in 2018, totaling 32 GB of RAM now, which is plenty to go with my 3090 RTX FE inside an ASUS X399 Stryx, these sticks are solid and still going strong.
