The Curtain fabric has a very velvety butter soft feel to it. The inside is lined with black out curtain fabric. I need to hem mine to the correct length and I'm sure they'll hang better then but right now the excess fabric is gathered on the floor and the curtains are a bit stiff but I'm hoping that'll soon get fixed when I get the time to hem them. I really love the feel of these curtains, they also come with matching ties that have Velcro. I've used it once or twice and it works fine but I prefer them without the ties. ... show more

The panels of the curtains are the right dimensions as advertised. What I found to not be exactly right is the color. It is not the navy that I expected, this might just be my perception though. The product's color looks more like a "royal blue" or "jean blue" than the navy which I normally see that is more dark. But we still used it because we needed a curtain and we don't mind the color being that shade of blue. One thing that we I did realize when we finished installing the curtain is that we needed to have two panels for one window instead of one panel per window. The curtain panel is 36 inches wide, which I was expecting to cover the 35 inch window which it does, but it lets some sunlight pass. This can be easily solved with the method I mentioned before, but it is not a big deal for us now to have a small amount of sunlight passing. Other than that, the curtain material is velvet, it feels nice, and for the blackout aspect it does the job. I recommend this product but if you plan to use one panel to cover your window, suggest using it for a window that is 34 or less or add the two panels for one window. ... show more

I ordered the FY FIBER HOUSE Blackout Curtains in Beige to use in my bedroom. The "soft luxury velvet" description in its title caught my interest. Summary: they're decent curtains. And two thick sort-of-velvet panels for under $30 (their current price, on sale) is super. Actual velvet has an almost fluid quality to it. These drapes feel soft like velvet but don't drape the way velvet does. This is the trade off for having blackout curtains - which I'm OK with. The back of the curtains is the same color as the front. The curtains arrive out of the packaging creased with wrinkles, but an enclosed paper tells you how to iron them (low, with steam). I plan on hanging mine for several days before ironing to see how much shakes out naturally on its own. I like these curtains but don't love them; I'd rate them at 3.5 stars, but since I can't, I'm rounding up to four stars. ... show more

I tried to take a picture of these drapes, but I could not get a good one, even with the ceiling fan light on. When they say room darkening folks, they mean it. You won't have to worry about privacy with these beautiful drapes on your window. I pressed them on the back side with steam on the iron's low setting to remove the packaging wrinkles, and they turned out lovely. I am an artist who sometimes has trouble sleeping at night, so I go to my craft room and paint. I had sheer curtains in that room which wasn't idea with a light on at night. I'd have to grab some clothes and get dressed at 2 am, then change back into my gown when I finally got tired enough to go back to bed. Not now, I can paint to my hearts content in my night gown in total privacy. My husband is not a fan of curtains with grommets, but I think these drapes have changed his mind. He really likes them. These curtains would be great for night shift workers who sleep in the day time, or people who have migraines and need a dark place to lay down. But more than that, they are just gorgeous, they hang beautifully and they dignify your room. The window I hung them on is on the wall where many of my paintings are hung, and they really make the gallery wall look very elegant. I caught myself several times after we hung them going back to the doorway and just standing there admiring them. They are, by far, the nicest drapes we have ever owned. ... show more

We decided to get some new curtains to use while we were getting our old ones cleaned. That was almost a month ago and we still haven't put the old ones back up. ๐Ÿ˜… The colors on these curtains match our room very well and they are of great quality. These block the light very well, and have a nice color that is neither super warm nor super cool. They have a slightly soft finish (I wouldnโ€™t call it velvet) that looks nice. They seem to be well made and I like that the backing isnโ€™t white or black, like on a lot of blackout curtains. Instead, the back side matches the front side of the curtains. ... show more
