Some of my projects needs to use a long scale level. This one hits the point. Easily retracts or extends to length with ease. I like how it feels.. sturdy metal (not cheap and flimsy feel).     • Can be very versatile if you know how to use it
I have plenty of levels in my bin of tools, but when I saw this I thought to give it a try. For one, I don't have something like this. Two, in my mind I can play many scenarios how this can be useful given the right conditions. When I first receive it, I immediately took to to my garage to check the leveling bubble. It's very accurate. Build quality for this product is quite good. Only complaint I have is all the hinges are VERY tight! I was thinking that I barely started to use this tool, so on one hinge, I gave it plenty of repeated bends to see if I can loosen it up. Nah, don't even try. After 5-minutes, it's still VERY tight. This immediately becomes quite an annoyance because I would prefer a more modular feel during my use if and when I need to bend this level into different configuration, it should be an ease. But no, this level's multi-configurational hinges are functioning opposite it of what the ad says it'll do. It's not impossible to bend and reconfigure the folding mechanism, it just takes a lot of force to do so. I'm not weak by any means, and I think through time if the hinges don't loosen up, this will become paperweight in a corner of a drawer. Some of the pro's I can name is how this thing when folded all the way down, it's very easy to carry and light weight. It has very many vials and angles to work with. So on different contour areas, this can be very handy, it'll serve as two levels easily. The vials are very easy to read, blue liquid against well stroke lines, not bad at all. The magnets are a bit weak, by the way. I tried to have it vertically magnet bound to my metal table leg, it held, but can easily slip down with a very light push. For buyers looking around for a good level, this may be your bet if you don't mind working with VERY tight hinges. Other than that, it does serve all it says in the ad. 4-stars because I have to take a star out for that annoyingly tight hinge. ... show more

    • Only Kind Of Level That Could Work For Certain Situations

I have a few levels but none that could flip and fold like this can. Fully folded up, it is pretty compact and can easily fit in a tool pouch to bring around and work at heights. Sure, I can bring my torpedo level which is what I've been doing but this level can stretch up to 27 inches if need be. And it can check levels in two dimensions simultaneously. The level bubble is accurate and the magnets at the bottom are good to have though not very strong. Given its uniqueness, it will have a place in my toolbox for use when the other levels are not a good fit for the situation. As others have commented, I agree that the hinges are way too tight for quick and smooth adjustments so a star knocked off for that. It would also be nice if it had length markings for added usability. ... show more

    • Really cool but stiff
I get why this is so stiff. If the joints were loose, it would be difficult to use. However, the joints are incredibly difficult to maneuver and I've found the best way to straighten this out to open it using a flat surface. That way, you can ensure that the level, at it's full length, is straight. Otherwise, it's very wonky in the creases. Other than that, it works great and is level; as it should be. ... show more
