    • An EXCELLENT TV Wall Mount at a super price
I purchased this wall mount to hold a 42", approx 20lb, LG flatscreen tv. The difficult part was that it was to be mounted on a concrete wall. There are 4 plastic anchors that come with the mount, but I chose to use 3.5" tapcons (masonry screws) instead. In addition, the wall has furring strips and drywall, so the tapcons have to go through the furring strips to avoid collapsing the drywall. If you're not mounting on concrete you must mount to a stud, preferably a wood one - I'm doubtful a sheet metal stud would hold the weight. I first attached 2" strips of 3/4" plywood to the wall, then attached the wall mount to the strips with four 1"x12 PH screws. The tapcons and screws were purchased at a local hardware store. You should note that the center of the tv connector and the center of the mount are not the same - they're separated by approx 5". This strip-mount might be a solution for you if the wall stud you want to use is in the wrong place. I selected this mount due to its apparent construction as seen on the Amazon page. It is quite sturdy - the info advertises 80 pounds. I tested mine to approx 100 pounds. The height of the intermediate hinge is 4", giving it great rigidity. The extenders which extend the plate (on which the tv is mounted) are approximately 1/16" steel, stamped with longitudinal ribs giving them strength and rigidity as well. Without the extenders, the mounting plate will accommodate 100mm and 200mm hole spacing. Using the extenders provides the other dimensions shown in the product description. Be sure to mount the extenders' flat sides to the mounting plate. The tv size (within reason) doesn't really matter as long as the mounting holes are spaced accordingly. A couple reviews said the packaging they received indicated 32-42". The packaging I received says 32"-52". Mine says model PM-W400+425. Not sure what this is all about. There are several plastic pieces which can be removed if desired or used to dress wiring. The box contains a couple dozen machine screws of various sizes, some half inch spacers, washers, and a 10mm wrench. The screws I used were too long but, using the supplied spacers, I was able to mount the tv with no additional hardware. One especially nice feature is that the mounting plate is easily removed from the wall mount by removing two nuts on the back. Removing them allows the plate to be tilted and lifted up, separating it from the mount - this lets you mount the plate on the tv, the mount on the wall and then easily attach the plate to the mount. This is WAY easier than hefting the tv plus mount up to the wall or trying to mount the tv on an installed wall mount. The tilt mechanism is set up such that its ease of movement is adjustable by loosening/tightening two other nuts on the sliding part of the hinge - you can make it as tight or loose as you wish as long as it doesn't slip. It doesn't allow a lot of adjustment in tilt but it's adequate. The instruction sheet (one page with warnings in 16 diff languages!) says +10/-2 degrees. NOTE THE ORIENTATION when mounting. As for the instruction sheet, it's mostly pictorial with a few english notations. As this thing is so simple and already assembled (except for the optional extenders), little if any instruction is required. One problem I had was that the tv designer chose REALLY bad places to put the connectors. One set of connectors lies on a diagonal between opposite corners and another set on a line between the top and bottom left side. Not the mount manufacturer's fault. Neither type of mount, this "X" shaped model or one with vertical bars, can accommodate both. I guess LG wanted me to use the too-small, too-far-apart brackets/feet.     • Great TV wall mount. Well built.
Great & inexpensive TV wall mount. It's sturdy and pretty heavy. I bought one three months ago for a 43' Sharp, and it still holds tight. So I bought another two, and installed them for my nephew. It's very easy to install. To be honest, you don't even need to read the manual, since all you need to do is to drill 3 holes on your wall, where the stud is, with 5/32 drill. If yours is brick wall, you will need to use the included masonry anchors (you will need to use a different size drill, if I remember it correctly), otherwise just drill holes and screw screws in. You will need a wrench too, I forgot which size it is, but the included wrench will not fit the stud screws. Before installing, make sure that you remove the bracket, and install it on your TV first, that will save you a lot of frustration. Be sure to check which side goes up, and which side goes down as well. ... show more

This is an excellent TV Mount if you are a DIY person, because THE INSTRUCTIONS ARE WORTHLESS. The unit is very sturdy and comes with all the parts you need and some you don't. There is a wide assortment of metric screws for fastening the TV to the Mount - 4 each of M4x25mm, M5x25mm, M6x25mm and M8x25mm which are to be used with the 4 spacers and 4 brackets to mount TV's with bolting patterns greater than 150x150mm. My TV had a 100x100mm pattern, so I didn't need the spacers or brackets, but I needed 4 M4x12mm screws which I had to buy at the local hardware store. The main pivot was VERY stiff, but it was easily loosened with a 10mm Allen wrench and a 19mm wrench, but vise grips and a 3/4 inch wrench would work too. I found removing the mounting bracket from the swing arm greatly simplified the process of bolting the bracket to the wall. The 12mm lag screws were fine for bolting the bracket to studs, but you need to take care to find the center of the stud for the mount to be secure, and you must have a good level to get the mount properly aligned. Methods are provided for adjusting the tilt angle (2 degrees up 10 degrees down) and the correction for vertical mounting errors (+- 2 degrees) work fine, but you must loosen the 10mm nuts to see how they operate before mounting the TV. If you are comfortable following these procedures or determining your own without detailed instructions, this product is fine for you and deserves the 4 stars I gave it. If you are NOT comfortable with being on your own, buy something else. ... show more

    • Works great to keep the sun's glare from my eyes!
I had the old flat tv wall mount for my 40 inch tv and always had a problem with the sun's glare coming through the window if the curtains were open. I'm disabled and am home much of the time and watch or listen to the tv quite a bit, so being able to look outside was something I was really missing. I was constantly opening and closing the curtains if I actually wanted to see the tv. This year I bought a larger tv and wanted to have a mount that could tilt to a degree that I would be able to open my curtains and watch tv without glare. This one works great. It doesn't tilt and turn a whole lot, but it is perfect for my small living room area, so that everyone can see the tv without any distortions. And, I can enjoy both tv and watching the outside world. I love it!! My son had the old one down and the new one up in a matter of less than half an hour. And, the tv went on just as it was suppose to. The holes lined up perfect and there was no need for any rigging or adjusting to force it to work. The holes are the exact measurements as listed. Also, I bought it out of the Amazon Warehouse, and it came in perfect working condition, with all the parts that it was supposed to have. This was huge plus for my budget and I feel a great deal for such a nice mount. I recommend this mount! I love being able to finally have my curtains open during the day while I watch tv. ... show more
