This works. But getting it on and off the futon is a miserable experience for one person and a difficult experience for two people. I've been doing it for a year or so (twin size). I'd rather just use a queen size sheet and wrap it around my futon. Also, it gets stained really easily. Oil stains from my face oil? I don't know. But oil stains. And they don't come out in my wash (to be fair I don't really care and I haven't tried anything other than normal washing to get them out). But it does exactly what it says it will do. I bought this to go with my Fuli futon mattress. Although it takes some work, the mattress fits well into it. The quality is good and it feels great sleeping on it. I just felt this cover is overpriced.

I listened to other reviewers and I got the twin size futon but ordered the twin XL cover. I’m glad I did because when I washed and dried it- it did get smaller but still fits a nice snug over the futon. Sooo easy to wash and dry. I did normal wash with a light 5 below brand comforter, baby blue Walmart pillow case, white futon cover and white fitted sheet to put over the cover (that one is incredibly soft). Throw all of them in a front loader washer on normal wash with some Lysol sanitizer detergent, fabric softener and just a dash of regular liquid ALL free and clear. Everything came out clean and no bleeding of colors. Tossed in the dryer on normal with some dryer balls- came out dry and ready to use. I will note that it does wrinkle and there are alot of wrinkles when used in the dryer but that is not a big deal breaker for me since I slip a fitted sheet over it. Also I keep it on futon and it folds with the futon without issues. ... show more

    • Overpriced, but mostly fits

These covers are very expensive for what they are, but I needed them for my Fuli futon. They are not preshrunk and even though I was careful to wash them in cold water and hang-dry, the futon stopped fitting perfectly after the first wash (see the reviews with pictures of slight protruding bumps for examples). I keep the futon folded up during the day and the bump isn’t noticeable when you lie on it, so it’s OK for now. Nevertheless, I’m going to look for other options. ... show more

I have an Ecin Twin (75” long) Shikibuton purchased here on Amazon, and was looking for a cover. With all of the reviews talking about this cover shrinking, I decided to get the XL Twin for this cover and use my regular washer and dryer settings to let it shrink. It does get much shorter, but the width seems to generally stay the same. Now the cover is just a few inches longer than the futon, but I just fold the extra underneath to look more neat. And, most importantly, I don’t have to hang it to dry or wash it in gently, because who has time for that kind of special care? It is comfortable. I have only just put it on, so I cannot comment on durability yet, but seems like it will be fine. The zipper seems sturdy. We shall see. ... show more

I like rougher fabrics normally, but the thread count is a little lower than I'd like. I also don't recommend get the zipper version, putting it on and taking it off is a hassle. I have a Queen sized shiki buton and its hard to maneuver the entire mattress into, essentially, a fabric envelope.
