Description

The Q5 PLATINUM is the most powerful Fuji Spray system. This 5-stage turbine motor develops approximately 9 5 psi. The additional power allows the user to apply their finish faster, and with less time spent on preparation of materials. Incorporated into its design, is a proprietary Heat Dissipation Chamber (HDC). The HDC expels excess heat from the turbine, resulting in much cooler operating temperatures. Less heat translates to longer motor life for your turbine. Supplied with the Fuji T-75G non-bleed spray gun with pattern control knob - the fan size is adjustable from small to large, and everything in between (fully incremental). The benefit of non-bleed is that air only passes through the spray gun when the trigger is pulled, resulting in less blowing around of shop dust and less paint buildup on the tip of the fluid nozzle. Obtain a professional finish with all known coatings. The Fuji T-75G is also equipped with 600cc gravity cup. The standard air cap set is the general purpose 3 (1 3mm), for fine finishing with lacquers, enamels, polyurethanes, latex, water-based coatings, and more. Easy to maintain. Perfect for professional or beginner. This is an industrial-rated machine at an unbeatable price. Heavy-duty metal case with gun holder. Portable and powerful. Complete system includes the Q5 PLATINUM turbine, T-Model spray gun with 600cc cup, 25ft Hose with quick-connect, air control valve, user manual, viscosity cup, wrench, cleaning brush, and the 5-for-5 bonus kit which consists of a 6' whip hose, wet film gauge, 19-pc spray gun cleaning & maintenance kit with lubricant, extra turbine filter, and "Always Measure" booklet - record your material preparation and results. This unit is for North American 120V plug only. For 220V capacity please contact Fuji Spray directly.

  • Good system but would not do a full auto without knowing its quirks and improvements.
Bought this looking to do full autos. Overall the system can get the job done, but the amount of headaches, inconsistencies, and bad shots, made me look elsewhere. There were a lot of issues that should be known before venturing into a full car with this turbine system. (If you notice most users on YT are spraying 1 or 2 panels) One which led to a really bad Clear 2nd coat shooting. (using Fuji's provided cup after issues with a bad batch of 3M PPS 2.0 lids and liners from Amazon not securing properly) First, the longer portion of the air hose, is super soft (is actually stiffens some over time.. perhaps by design).. If you even touch it with your toe, when first using, you're going to get a huge flow disruption which will cause big spray fluctuation. Constant crimps even with clear space and hose management. Because it's very soft. picture very soft rubber.. Bad. Second, know your tip sizes. for base and clear. 1.3 (which it comes with) will not atomize properly.. For primers it is fine.. I used 0.8 for both base and clear (1.0 is probably okay for base). Lastly, the cup provided in my opinion should not be used for any professional full auto job. First, if you use it for base then go to clear, or have a long flash between clears.. know that cleaning this cup enough (which has pressure feeding into it directly to the paint) is almost impossible.. At best you need to buy extra cups (if not going the 3M PPS route.. which you should.. even though I have had issues with leaking from certain batches of theirs) After having horrible clear boogers shooting out on the 2nd coat, lowering the air pressure, thoroughly cleaning the gun and cup, multiple times, I came to realize the pressure oddities were either coming from the hose connecting to cup which does get some paint flow back, and the actual lid pressure hole (which connects the cup to hose), which can easily get gunked up and could be missed on cleaning thoroughly. ... show more

  • Another 30 years
I have had a Fuji HVLP Q3 (not platinum) sprayer for about 30 years, and have been very satisfied with the many projects that I have done: mostly cabinets and some guitars. Well, it finally gave up the ghost. I have purchased a Q5 Platinum, with the gravity feed sprayer and used it for the first time yesterday. What a delight! Beautiful atomized spray. No runs. Great control. I'm looking forward to another 30 years! ... show more

  • GET THIS. Period.
Let me start off my saying im not some professional. Im a hobbyist. I don't have a giant shop, but the tools I do have.. are nice. 13" planer, 6" joiner. Table saw. routers. 5hp shaper. drill press, tile saw and blah blah blah. Always have the right tool for the job at hand. The better your tools.. the better quality of your output. I just started building new cabinets for my kitchen, so I wanted a professional looking finish. I sprayed finishes on in high school but since then its always been brush/roll... and if you've done much of that you know the time involved and the quality. Sometimes is ok. sometimes its bad. So I wanted to spray. I have an air compressor.. a 30 gal.. but it wouldn't put enough CFM through to use the typical HVLP guns you can get. Id have to spend close to $1000 on a fast enough compressor (and one that doesn't come from harbor freight). Then you're dealing with cold air.. and having to use water/oil traps to keep the air clean going to the gun. Then you still have to buy the gun. In that light, I decided to look at the turbine systems. Warm air. no worry about oil or water. After looking around I decided on the Q5. Im GLAD I went with the Q models. They really ARE exceptionally quiet. you can talk in a normal voice over this thing. Its high quality. And the gun was simple to set up, even for someone that hasn't sprayed in 30 years and even then, the shop teacher had it all set up. The air adjustment on the box. Another on the hose end, and the end cap adjusting the amount of material going through. I had it up and spraying nicely in about 5 minutes. Ive already sprayed the pieces for three cabinets and they look fabulous. Also of note, is their customer service. This alone is worth getting... I had decided to use targets EM coatings for my cabinets. the EM1000 sanding sealer and the EM6000 lacquer. Both water based for ease of cleanup and the lacquer, while water based, does a full burn in. so that was important. Due to viscosity and cap sizes.. I contacted Fuji support about what size nozzles would be best for these coatings... within the day I had my answer. THey had already tested those specific coatings and said the EM6000 worked best with the stock 1.3mm nozzle and the EM1000 worked best with the 1.0mm nozzle. So I added the 1.0mm nozzle to my cart and made my purchase. other than adjusting the gun I didn't even practice, and went right to work. first thing i screwed up was attaching the flexible whip hose wrong (I felt like a moron and attached it to the unit itself thinking of it as a stress relief section. duh. Over thinking). Anyway I wrote fuji asking about it cause the whip was blowing off the compression fitting. He told me, nicely, that I had it connected to the WRONG end of the big hose. I face palmed. At any rate, even though it was my fault, they shipped me out a new whip hose the next day.!! attached are images of the birch plywood ive sprayed .. the interior parts of the cabinets (yes, Id have liked better wood to work with but rural MS doesnt have a lot of fine lumber selection!!) Each piece was taken down to 320 grit, then hit with two coats of sanding sealer. That was taken down with 400 grit paper before spraying 4 coats of EM6000. The photos are pieces of the first cabinet, resting for the 100 hr cure time on the EM6000. So thats how they look after the lacquer job. Once they are cured they will get a 600 grit wet sand. 0000 fine wool. then pumice and rottenstone to polish. The quality and the gloss are hard to really see in the pictures... but I couldn't be more thrilled at the performance and the speed. spraying a coat on 4 pieces takes about a minute. try that with a brush. The quality of the unit, its ease of use/cleaning and the customer service are all top notch. all I can say is.. GET THIS. ... show more

  • All you could hope for...and more.
I've been using the traditional air compressor and a DeVilbiss gun setup for over 20 years for spraying acoustic guitars. While I have no complaints about this system, I nonetheless decided to purchase the Fuji Q5 when my compressor started to fail. So far, these are the benefits: 1. No need for a loud 5hp 60-80 gallon air compressor that costs much more than the entire Fuji system. 2. No need for an air dryer/filter to clean a compressor's dirty/wet air. 3. Portability. 4. Small footprint compared to a compressor. 5. And, most importantly, the atomization of the Fuji T75G gun is every bit as good, if not better, than my Devilbiss and SATA guns. It took only 30 minutes to setup the system and get the gun dialed in for a perfect fan and fluid setting. I now plan on buying an additional T75g and touch-up gun. ... show more
