Our pup is obsessed with this!! We play it twice a day for about 20 minutes at time or we go outside to play. Chasing and retrieving is life for our doodle. I found that when using tennis balls they get wet and don’t go as far so we have about 40 tennis balls and use each ball twice before moving on to the next one. The other thing is that many have stated it quit working after a bit. That happened to us. After two a day play time for two weeks ours started to get loud and slow down, to the point that the balls shooting out would bounce out about 2-3 feet away. Then it just stopped working. So I was going to throw it away and buy a new one. Like I said our dogs obsessed. Once I saw again how much I paid for it, I was not about to do that. So my son in law took it apart and found the two motors had collected all this dark hard melted plastic (tennis ball fuzz) and some un-melted tennis ball fluff that had been collected from all the tennis balls. Which explained the EXTRA long fuzz on the actual tennis balls as well. Had to use pliers and tweezers to get it out, wiped it clean, put it back together and it works like new. We are now using smooth plastic, rubber or foam like tennis balls and let me tell you no issues but they fly even further and we just need to wipe them down with a towel after each use or they don’t go far. ... show more

There is no safety mode that alerts my dogs. My dogs just stare into the hole the ball launches from and get hit in the face every time since there isn't a warning. The motor is louder than i thought it would be. I would have returned it but the return window passed before we could try it out. Complete waste of money. ... show more

Hoped to be able to use indoors but this unit is so loud. It does work well though as long as the tennis balls aren’t too wet. The rubber balls flew much further. If you have a goofy dog like me that won’t get out of the way, this thing can output the ball pretty hard and fast. Be prepared! It’s a good size for portability. It doesn’t seem to be made of the thickest plastic so durability could be questionable. I’m excited for it to get warmer out in Ohio so we can let the pups use it outside. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I do like how it was accurate about the distance of the ball launch launcher. It is very loud and gets louder the more you turn up the dial. The spiky ball sometimes gets stuck in the blue cup on the little crevices. I am worried about dirt and saliva buildup with it not being easy to clean. The noise alert that you're supposed to be able to turn on does not work when it's supposed to. Sometimes the ball catches in the mechanism and you have to push it through. If this item had been not on sale, I wouldn't have got it or I would've returned it for what it is listed as. REVISED the spiky ball was destroyed after 2 days, and the tennis ball will not go farther than 5 feet, i've tried chuck it balls and it doesn't go any more than that either, i honestly can't see a use for it after only a week of having it ... show more

The machine itself works just as it should! It is easy to use - you or the pup are simply supposed to put the ball in the top "hopper" & it shoots it out. It has "legs" underneath so you can adjust the pitch of the throw. It is louder but not obnoxious, totally tolerable! My 1 year old dog is OBSESSSED with playing ball so we bought this hoping he would learn to play ball with himself after we are done for the day (because he is NEVER done!). Sadly, he doesn't feel he should be the one to put the ball back into the hopper for a new pitch & feels he is above that & that his humans should serve him.     • Might be ok for a small dog indoors

The media could not be loaded. I have an Australian Shepherd that doesn't mess around when it comes to playing fetch. I had a Go Dog Go launcher that worked very well for a couple years but eventually broke down and tried this as a cheaper replacement. As stated in other reviews, the first throw was somewhat far, and ever throw after that got shorter until it was barely throwing 10 feet on max power. My dog also prefers the heavier Chuck It balls and they are way too heavy for this launcher never throwing more than a few feet. The plastic "all weather" ball that comes with this is thrown VERY far and is probably what they use to advertise how good this launcher can throw but my dog won't use it because of the texture. My dog deformed the provided tennis ball very quickly. Returning this and will try another more expensive version of the spinning wheel thrower before I just go back to the Go Dog Go catapult style launcher my dog knows and loves. The bad part of those types is it's such and sudden shock to the plastic parts that it wears out quickly with heavy use. And my dog demands his fetch time on the regular. This machine might be fine for a small dog using light balls indoors where you can put it on low power and not expect much. It might be worth $100 for that person. ... show more

    • Holy cow this is a game changer!

The media could not be loaded. My 7 month old Lab puppy LOVES this, my Golden could care less lol. Machine is a bit loud, kind of sounds like a small plane landing. We use this outside and then bring in to shoot down the hall while we are watching tv at night. She did put the ball in a few times on her own but is still learning how to do this. This truly is amazing, she gets so happy when we pull it out, sure beats throwing the ball 300 times a day. I recommend having additional tennis balls ready to go, when they get wet they don't shoot as far. We just use a rotation of about 20 different tennis balls, they are all store bought standard size. It does shoot pretty far but if it's not change the tennis ball to a drier ball and put it at a higher speed on the side. First time using this I shot a ball down the hall and it was like a pinball hitting the ceiling and each door pretty hard, Leia loved it but boy was it loud. The spiky ball they send is super hard so be careful that doesn't hit you pet in the face. Great product! ... show more
