  • It’s a seine know what you are getting.
Style: 4' X 8'
It’s a seine. Great way to catch a bunch of minnows. Laws are tricky about using them so be sure you know what is allowed in your area. Things I don’t particularly care for with this seine is the sag in it doesn’t seem to be as much as one’s I have had in the past. This could be the size I got. Next thing the rope to tie it to the pole could be made of different material that is not so bulky and holds knots better. The biggest complaint I have on this seine is the weights on the bottom. I understand that we are going to a lead free world but more weight is needed to keep this guy down for easy use. Don’t let my negativity detour you. Overall it sturdy material and worth the price. After all it’s just a seine and you can’t buy the material and make your own for as cheap. ... show more

  • Heavy duty, best quality

This net was really great but I lost it in the beach 1st day.

  • It's okay...
Style: 4' X 4'
The floats are barely strong enough, their isn't enough weight to the bottom, had to add weights. You have to add your own poles and the attachment points aren't very good, I added more. Needs some tweaking overall to have a good setup.

  • A complete waste of money
Style: 4' X 20'
I have used seines extensively for almost 60 years now. My two seines had lots of patches so I thought I'd get a new one. I found this seine to be unusable and it ended up discarded. There are three things about this net that make it unusable: First, it is polyester. All the old nets, and all the good nets are nylon. Nylon bends easily and makes that nice big fold that traps minnows. Polyester is stiff and does not. Second - good seines have lead weights to help them hug the bottom. This net has much lighter steel weights. The weights hove no weight to them, and worse, their large surface area catches the current and pulls it out from under the net. Third, these nets have these worthless weights hanging several inches below the net. On a good net, the weights will be even with the bottom of the net. Being below the net, causes the bottom of the net to drag back behind the net, which allows fish to escape. Evidently all "on the shelf" nets made these days are made exactly like this one and every one of them are worthless. If someone wants a good net now, you have to contact a net-maker and have it made. I threw this one away after using it twice. My old nets with patches are far superior. I then called a net-maker and ordered a good net. Yes, they cost about $90 to $150, but for those like me who use nets all the time, my time is worth something. Yes, this net is "sturdy." But sturdiness in nets is not what you want. This polyester net ruined two fishing trips. I'll never take a polyester net with steel weights on the river again!! ... show more
