  • Worked Great to Re-Wire Home Theater Setup
Size: 10 Pair
These are excellent plugs. I used them to replace old plastic banana plugs, when I recently had to replace my old home theater receiver. These were easy to attach to the speaker wires (pretty beefy 12 ga in my case). Good, positive connection with plenty of grip, so they won't accidentally pull out if they get jostled. Great sound quality. I wired 2 front, center, 2 Atmos height, and 2 rear surround with these. Nice and tidy now! ... show more

  • Superior Design!
Size: 6 Pairs
Delivery was lightning fast. I tried a pack of two pairs of these banana jacks as a sample to see if these would meet my needs. The design of these plugs is superior. The design was exactly what I wanted because the speaker wire is secured with TWO set screws. Then I ordered an additional six pairs of plugs to hook up my subwoofer to my amp and speakers. (I feed the audio output from the amp to the sub. The sub has a crossover that keeps the low frequencies and sends the mid and treble frequencies to my bookshelf speakers.) I love the security of two set screws on each plug and love the barrel that screws on AFTER the wire is secured by the set screws. Most banana plugs have a hole through the shaft of the plug that receives the stripped wire. Then the barrel cover is screwed down to secure the wire in the plug. This design compresses the speaker wire but eventually the cap loses it grip and allows the connection between the wire and the plug to become loose. Then the transfer of the audio signal becomes poor and the speakers sound bad. Every month or two I needed to check all the banana plugs and re-tighten many of them for the best performance. The two set screws eliminate this problem. The set screws are quite small and take a little extra care in installation. You will need a small flat blade screwdriver to tighten them. I used the 1/8" flat blade driver from a set of jewelers screwdrivers. These well made plugs are a bit pricier that many of the banana plugs available but certainly not the priciest plugs available. For me, the slightly higher price was more than offset by the security of the wire within the plug. I'm not thrilled with the extra tight fit of the tip on the plugs into the jacks. It took a lot of effort to insert the in the jack. Actually I "greased" the pins (very sparingly) with with non-corrosion, conductive paste (Ox-Gard, No-Corrode, etc. Do NOT use any other grease.) Next time I'll use pliers to compress the pin. My only quibbles are that the spring pins that go into the jack are very tight and that the plugs are only sold in quantities of two pairs or 12 pairs. I recommend these banana plugs for all who are using the banana plugs and jacks for hooking up your speakers. It's a very convenient way of connecting speakers if your speakers and amplifier have the banana jack as part of the binding post. Further, it's much safer to use banana plugs since the possibility of shorting your amplifier with a stray strand of wire is practically zero. Easy Five Stars. ... show more

  • Good quality and value for the price
Size: 2 Pairs
The connectors felt very high-quality, and it was straightforward to use the two screws to attach to the speaker wire. I used 16-guage lamp cord, and the connections felt secure. It created a snug fit in the terminals, and the sound quality is as I expected.

  • Better options available
Size: 6 Pairs
After having purchased these banana plugs and some others, I will not be purchasing these again. Cons: -Spring pins are too large/tight making it difficult to remove the sleeve for installation and for inserting into speakers/amps. Almost broke wall plate (made by FosPower!) trying to push these in. I understand not wanting them to be loose, but this is just frustrating. -two screws required on each plug to lock wire in place. While very secure, it takes too much time to assemble each plug. -limited red/white color makes differentiating +/- plugs very difficult in low light environments (like behind amplifier or speakers) Pros: +very secure connection to wire will not pull out. +if you can get spring pin into connector, it will NOT fall out! +good materials and workmanship. I have bought two dozen other plugs since these, and regret this purchase. The other plugs (Sewell deadbolt) simply screw apart, feed wire through, bend strands over base, and screw pieces back together. The other plugs were faster to assemble, provided just as secure of a connection, and went in and out of my speaker/amp/wall plug connections with the correct amount of pressure. I do NOT recommend. ... show more

  • Major upgrade from the original ends that came with my cables.
Size: 5 Pairs
I originally purchased two sets of Arklove 1pcs 6ft 14awg Premium Heavy Duty Braided Wire for a amplified sub shaker set up I built, that is attached to my computer chair. And even though I gave myself several feet clearance so I could pull my chair out to unplug from the desk, I still managed to tug on one of these plugs a bit to much and it broke. So after looking at the way they built that original plug, I realized that it was an inferior design. It used a pin and swivel set up that only had about 1cm of contact with the base "thus why it broke so easily" but also uses a free spinning center. And that spinning center in theory is supposed to tighten up when inserted by putting pressure on the two ends and thus create a contact point. Problem is, it doesn't work. When inserted, it should not spin and give a tight contact. But it didn't. So while my shaker is bumping around doing it's thing, those contacts are getting jostled around and giving bad contact. When the these new ends arrived, I quickly realized why the centers never seated on those old ends. They are way smaller than these. When you plug these in the first time, they are really tight. But after that, they will go in without too much hassle, but stay tight. These are built to much better specs and are a much heavier gauge of metal. The stems are robust and make solid contact and don't vibrate when inserted. Since my cables had the same type of contacts, it was super easy to pull the old ones off and replace. My only small complaint is that I wish the colors were more visible. It's not a deal breaker, but you have to make sure you are putting them in the right way. They came in a medium size heavy duty zip bag with smaller zip bags with each pair. None were damaged or scratched up. Would buy again. ... show more
