Everything seemed to work well out of the box, but when I installed it the range of sensitivity is super short, somewhere between 3 and 5 feet. I hoped it would catch someone approaching before they were right up at the door but it doesn't. There doesn't seem to be an adjustment for this so I'm going to send it back and try another brand. It would be fine if you only wanted to know when someone was right AT the door. Also has to be at head level or just above, or someone could see it and easily remove it. Product is used for an elderly patient. Ended up buying a bed alarm instead because this motion sensor was far too sensitive and alarmed when the patient rolled over. I tried different angles and distances, but it was still too sensitive. However, it might be great for other uses.

This is exactly what I was looking for. The motion sensor is very sensitive so I had to play around with the positioning. So many different songs to choose from. To choose a certain chime you'll need to pick a chime and activate the motion sensor while the transmitter is still blinking and playing the chime to save it. I needed this for my warehouse, the rude neighbors just walked in and used my warehouse bathroom without asking. Bought it to help track my special needs child from going into parts of the house he knows he shouldn't be (due to dangers, like the kitchen). We set up 2 sensors. Works well, if almost TOO well. When only a couple feet from one side of a hall to the other, when it detects you on either side is very wide. My only complaint is the sound selection. Volumes work just fine, and when I click the buttons to go to different sounds, it does so (and a very nice selection, some even humorous). BUT, when I leave it on one that I want, it goes back to using the default ring instead of my selection. Bit of a bummer, but it does the job I bought it to do, so I won't be sending this one back. My kid's safety is more important than what ring tone it's set to. ... show more
