  • Great ductile Iron Vise at a reasonable price
Size: CR40A-4.5In
If you have done your research you already know that ductile iron vises are twice as strong as cast iron. This vise was a little smaller than what imagined it would be but it is perfect for my diy suburban needs although if I had to do it over I would personally buy the larger 6.5" vise. Take your time analyzing exactly where you want to mount your vise. Ideally it would either be a left or right corner of a workbench and as close to the edge as you can making sure that the face of the vise is beyond the workbench edge in order to hold longer items in a vertical position and also to be able take full advantage of the swivel base. Another tip is that by design the spacing between the front mount holes is meant to be larger than the rear holes (don't put it on backwards). I used M10 1.5 SS Flanged Hex Bolts/Nuts and they fit perfectly. You could also likely get away with more readily available 3/8" Hex Bolts/Nuts/Washers ... show more

  • Far superior quality than Menards MasterForce vise
Size: CR40A-4.5In
I initially bought a 4 inch vise from Menards but after installing it on my bench I couldn't get over the poor quality of the casting finishing and the absolutely loud noise it made going in and out. I oiled it up every possible spot and still did not help. I returned it and bought this one from Amazon. It is a much better product and it goes in and out silently. ... show more

  • Using this brings me joy. ONLY complaint is limited rotation.
Size: CR80A-8In
MINOR complaint below. That aside, I absolutely love this vise. I 3D printed some plastic jaws for the kinds of projects I work on, and the generous space to work it gives lets me do everything I could with a rotating vise - except with the robustness of an 8-inch and ease of use of a standard bench vise. Absolutely rock solid for hammering on and larger items I've used it to hold. My only complaint is that 360-degree rotation would make it easier for some projects, and I have made it rotate when I thought it was locked in, requiring a cheater bar to turn the locking knob. I disliked another vise which needed the locking knobs to be undone all the way for it to rotate at all past locking teeth, so I'm not sure if there's a better way which will not drive the price up a lot. ... show more

  • Great Vice!!
Size: CR40A-4.5In
My old 3.5 in. Vice literally cracked in half. My new Foward 4.5 in. Vice is a little bigger, and can spin around 90 degrees both ways. I shopped around and for the price, and features, I chose this vice. I am very pleased, I hope to be happy for a long time. Thank you

  • Performance
Size: 6.5Inch
This was an upgrade from my smaller and older vise. I am very pleased with this vise. It's versatile an big enough for most of my projects. The price was acceptable for something that I'll use for years.

  • So far....
Had to redrill holes to mount it. Bigger than my other vise. So far, im impressed. It's nice and heavy, smooth operation, seems to be of good quality materials. Time will tell. I have a wilton, small vise. But it was my dad's old vise. Still going strong. I'll update this review as needed. Oh, I also took it apart and cleaned all the grease off. I figured, if dad's vise lasted using his grease, then I'll use it on my vise too. Even the base swivel. Made it not so clunky when rotating. With regular maintenance and cleaning, should be a lasting tool ... show more
