I'm 6'2", 195 lbs, athletic build, and the X-Large is very big on me, in chest/abdomen, shoulder length, and sleeve length. Better for the jacket to be too big than too small though. I like this one with the 360-degree, brimmed hat better than those with a fencing veil, because the latter seemed to not hold itself up over my head as well - i.e. the fencing veil sags and just kind of rests on the top of my head. Also, on the jacket I received at least, the top of the brimmed hat is the same breathable mesh material as the rest of the jacket, though the one in the picture looks as if it's constructed of a solid material. I wish the jacket had elastic thumb straps, but the cuffs seem tight enough to keep critters out. Elastic is tight around the waist too. Overall, very pleased so far. ... show more

First off, I like that I can feel the breeze through this jacket. Feel that will be nice during the hot Texas summer. Now for the things I don't like... Can't turn my head and the veil turn with it. The seams in this jacket are very uncomfortable on bare arms. It is not like a structured hat.. it is like a bowl on your head with no way to tighten up or adjust in any way. However the veil is removable, and I am on the lookout for a better replacement. You will still sweat in this jacket and only get cooled off if there is a pretty good breeze that day. In my opinion I would not buy this jacket and I would go to a bee store or outlet like Mann Lake to try one on first. ... show more

Cool and comfy. I'm 5ft 9in at 230lbs and the XL is good for me. Zippers are good and like the visibility of the hood. I wear a ball cap underneath to make turning my head more comfortable.
