We just remodeled our front porch and I wanted to to add something to the walk leading to our new entry. I found these and thought I'd try them to see if these were what I was looking for. These are pretty effortless. Out of the box, there are 4 metal spikes, 4 little solar panels with an on/off switch and 4 LED bundles. The bundle wires are bendable and can be positioned however you want. I first put these out after just quickly opening each bundle, but decided to spend a little more time to open these more uniformly so they actually LOOK like fireworks after dark. During the day, these are kind of ugly, but not off putting, just cheap looking. At night, however, these little lights look amazing and give off a lovely gentle glow. Since they are clear lights and wiring, they are not very noticeable during the day, so I'm not too bothered by their appearance. I have these lining my walk, about 2 feet apart on one side. I will likely order another set of these for the other side. I am happy with these and would recommend. ... show more

I love these solar lights. They look pretty and are so easy to use -- just flip the switch to the on position, stick them in the ground and let their little solar panels soak up the sun during the day. You never have to flip the switch again - just leave it in the on position and the lights will turn on every evening at dusk and turn off either when they run out of battery sometime in the middle of the night or when the sun rises, whichever comes first. You can choose between blinking or solid lights. I love how these lights are on thin gold wires and the lights themselves are tiny. You can bend the wires however you like, and the tiny little LEDs give such a delicate, fairy-light quality. These lights also disappear better during the day -- last summer I had some similar lights that were little white plastic balls about the size of gumballs. They looked pretty at night but were too visible and awkward looking during the day. These are not exactly invisible during the day but they are much better at disappearing into the landscape than the white plastic balls. At night, when the wires sway in the breeze it's a very pretty site, but I must admit we don't get much wind here in the evenings, only during the day. I like that this is a set of four because I like to cluster these together. I combined them with a couple of similar lights (also from Amazon) that are slightly taller, so the heights are staggered a bit. Of course, because these lights are on spikes that are designed to go into the soil, you can stagger the heights by sinking them into the soil at different levels. At first I put the spikes into the soil right behind the retaining wall you can see in my photos, but the spikes were in the way when it was time to use the weed-eater up against the wall. I didn't want the lights to get ruined by the weed-eater, so I used some outdoor double-stick tape on the underside of the solar panel to hold them on top of the wall. This is working out great so far. They would be hidden better if they were sunk into the ground, but at least this way they won't get battered by the string trimmer. Overall, I love these lights. They look pretty and delicate and require no wiring, electric outlet or knowledge to use -- all they need is sunlight during the day for the solar panels. I got these lights to brighten up the tree edge in our back yard. Our dogs frequently wander in the back corner and I wanted to be able to see a little better back there at night. I also didn’t want a typical spotlight, but wanted something cute instead. These fit the bill exactly! They are fairly bright when on and definitely add some character to our yard. They do look like little fireworks! The white light js a true white and not very orangey. They seem to be well made and have been outside for over 3 weeks now, to include in rain, with no issues. The batteries charge pretty quickly, from what I can tell, and last well into the night. I haven’t stayed up long enough or gotten up early enough to tell exactly when they loose their charge at night. They are easy to stick in the ground and stay upright if really stuck in well. Our neighbors have some solar lights on their fence, so when I saw this set of solar garden lights, I decided to order the set to try out in our garden, despite the fact that we're often foggy here on the coast throughout the day. We had some sunny days in a row, fortunately, so my husband set them out to charge up from the sun, and we were treated at night to the back fence being illuminated with the lights, which occasionally were blowing festively in the coastal winds. I love that we have some nightlight in the back, and who knows what our elderly dog thinks about the lights? He may like the way they look too? He definitely doesn't bother them at all. I think this is a great starter set of solar lights that may coax The Hub into considering getting some more! I find them not just illuminating but fun to look at!
