I installed my Fluval Sea PS1 a week ago. It does what it is advertised to do. Can't give it 5 stars because it emits a humming noise when powered up. I solved that problem by using a timer so that it only runs over night when no one is in the room to be bothered with the hum. It took little effort to install and adjust the unit. Did not work as advertised. Poor instructions, skimmer only effectively worked for about a day then would fill up with water and needed to be emptied. Went online followed recommended setup, tried multiple adjustments, no change. Removed from tank, waste of money.

I got this skimmer about 1 month ago, so it should be past the break in point, but it seems like it isn't because it is still only producing white foam. I can't stop the micro bubbles either! They are everywhere. I tried adjusting the thing a million times. I tried foam in the output, filter socks in the output. Everything. My corals are pissed. I read the review that it was the air valve and that it needs to be tight. I always thought mine was tight. I'll check again. The bottom line is I probably wouldn't buy this skimmer again and I'm probably gonna have to make a switch soon. These micro bubbles are killing my tank. It is sad because fluval is such a solid filtration company and I use a 306 canister on my tank, but this skimmer is a dud. ... show more
