  • Sturdy and Smooth
I'm not a pro, but I've started shooting short marketing videos for work recently, so I needed something to hold up a Canon EOS M50, a teleprompter sometimes, and whatever else. This tripod does the trick on a budget. The pan&tilt action is very smooth and professional-feeling, and the arm is nice and long with a good grip on it. The build quality seems sturdy enough for my needs - it mostly stays set up in my home office with some occasional travel. As others have said it's not the lightest unit in the world, but it does fold down and fit into its carry case fairly easily. The QR mounting plate is 50mm wide, so it's compatible with the Manfrotto 500 series. I was able to buy a generic replacement plate to permanently mount my teleprompter to. I do have a couple of minor complaints that may or may not affect its usefulness to you. First, the bubble level is in a position where you can't look straight down onto it. So I'm not always sure if I've leveled the tripod properly. Second, the monopod feature seems kind of useless. You have to remove the entire center column, including the bulky pan/tilt head, and mount it on one of the legs. This makes for quite a heavy monopod, which isn't useful to me - though it could be for others I guess. The instructions also weren't clear on how to do all of that - I kept trying to remove the head just below the ball joint, but you need to remove the small cap with the hook on it at the bottom of the adjustable column, then pull that up and out of the vertical adjustment clutch. That part then attaches to the one removable leg of the tripod. Anyway. A minor point on an otherwise good product. ... show more

  • While it isn't the lightest, it is exactly what I needed
I'm a wedding filmmaker who prefers shooting hand held or on a gimbal, but I was starting to find myself in absolute pain at the end of the wedding days. I decided to start shooting ceremonies on a monopod, but I was tired of my cheap $40 plastic one and looking to upgrade. This one caught my eye, and I'm so glad it did. The build is sturdy and well made, the conversion from tripod to monopod is super useful (although I will note, not quick). The head is pretty good, with smooth motion and springs that always push it back to center when loose. Overall, it is way cheaper than competitors while having all the features I'm looking for. ... show more

  • Surprisingly great quality! Minor issues
The media could not be loaded. I was in between this one or a more expensive Manfrotto. I was sold on this one because of the cheaper price and it converts into a monopod. This tripod is very good quality! Its mostly metal except for the notches, which are hard quality plastic. Its very sturdy and the fluid head gives smooth, nice pans and and tilts. Works great with my GH5. I definitely recommend it over spending extra for a name. My only issues are: -Its light enough to be portable but a little to heavy and bulky to carry with your backpack. (It comes with a VERY nice carrying bag made with thick, quality material). I'd say about 50% of the weight is from the fluid head. Its very big and bulky. I would just use the bag it comes with instead of trying to carry it with a camera bag/backpack. -As you can see in the video, the handle that I got is a little lose and turns. Something I may be able to fix. -The rubber ends on the legs are cool because they are flexible. But I think over time, these can become lose and pop off to be lost. If this happens, the tripod will be unusable. It would be a nice touch if it came with replacements. -The thing I was most sold on was the monopod. But it doesn't come with the legs for it. The ad says sold separately, but I haven't been able to find it anywhere. Seems like Coman stopped selling it on its own. This is a big necessity. I'm gonna have to find a 3rd party stand that hopefully fits. 4.5/5 stars ... show more

  • If you are looking for an amazing and affordable tripod, this is the one.
This tripod is amazing for this price! I am a professional wedding videographer with 20 years of shooting and although this is not the best tripod I ever had it is a solid second. It is light, sturdy and the fluid head is absolutely smooth. Unlike some said here you can use a 501 plate and it works fine. You just have to drop it in and not slide it in. I was so impressed with this tripod that I bought 2 of them. If you are looking for an affordable great tripod this is the one. ... show more

  • Nice tripod!
Very happy with the tripod! On another note, the seller was very kind. Almost 1 year after my purchase I tipped the tripod over and one of the leg connection joints cracked. I ask the seller about purchasing spare parts. I explained that it was entirely my fault. Instead they sent another one that had been returned to them for me to use and get parts from. And even after offering, they did not charge anything! ... show more

  • Good quality tripod and fair price.
Eat is a good brand, for an amateur like me it is enough. The tripod has a good head based on fluid movement. It also has a horizon guide. Smooth movement, robust and strong head. Made of metal and good finish. Light weight, the release of the legs is quick.
