The FlightGear software GUI and user manuals are superbly done and I do appreciate that it must have taken lots of time by their team of experts to create this simulator. I am a real pilot with commercial and instrument ratings and also owned a real Cessna-150 for 10 years. This simulator is truly realistic. I first tried using a Windows-7 desktop with an 8 year old graphics card – all functions worked but with way too much time latency. My Windows-10 laptop was an order of magnitude faster processing and more fun. Read the user manuals first then have fun flying… ... show more

    • Not worth the trouble.
It didn't work. I wasted an hour following directions and trying to troubleshoot........Nothing. I'm returning it. I'm no longer going to deal with Flight Gear ever again. Don't waste you money or your time. Nothing on the memory stick but corrupted files.

It will take a long time to get familiar with it because of the large number of different aircraft.

    • Plenty of challenges for a pilot
I was looking for a cheap setup to polish some rusty skills. This is a quality simulator with very little cost investment. I added a Logitech Pro 3D joystick. Joystick setup was easy. Planes and environments are good enough.

Program said it's loaded, then the program would not load to play on the screen, stays on hour glass. IT WAS A XMAS GIFT that disappointed. I even bought a joy stick to use with this Wantedore money.

So far, we have not been able to program our flightstick controls properly. As a retired pilot with over 20,000 hours of flight time, I would think the program would be intuitive.
