  • Solid Machine
Size: Adventurer 4
This is my second printer. Like a lot of us, I started out with an Ender 3, but moved to a place where good ventilation wasn’t available, so I wanted something with a closed cabinet and a filter. Had the printer running soon after unboxing it, and the quality of the prints I’m getting is solid. I’ve done some fairly small technical parts as well as a couple of fairly large multi-day prints, and they’ve all come out to my satisfaction. Especially considering that all of my prints on the Adventurer so far have been mechanical devices which required some good tolerancing, I’m very happy. It is true that the wifi can be a little unreliable, but I’ve found that it connects no problem as long as you connect using the IP address of the printer. The slicing software that comes with it is simple, but doesn’t lack any feature I personally need, and the printer will work with Cura and other slicers. What issues I’ve seen people have with this printer either seem to be a problem with defects, (of which mine had absolutely none) or with what looked to me to be issues with print settings. I definitely had to adjust the settings I was used to with my Ender a little to work with the Flashforge, but after messing with it for an hour or two, I was in business. Oh, and the bed leveling. It isn’t totally automatic, but it can be pretty accurate if you know how to use it. A white sheet of paper on the build plate helps. Once I figured that trick out, I had no problems getting it leveled. No skipping, over-extrusion, etc. All in all, I’d say this is a pretty good machine. What issues there are are very easy to fix should you experience them, and you can expect to get some high-quality prints consistently. I’ve put maybe 10kg through it now, and am satisfied. ... show more

  • Loved it, but there were some hiccups
Size: Adventurer 4
CON: -This wifi connection was iffy, even when i could see the printer on the cloud i could see it with my PC.(I'm assuming the wifi was a unit issue, or possibly software) -The camera is very very low res -The light is small, there should be a second LED inside the enclosure to improve image quality -online slicer...is exactly what i expect from an online slicer PRO: -Hepa filter -Build volume is good(large-ish) -Yehey Bowden drive !! -any camera is better than no camera :-) -Love the flexible removable bed -for the most part prints stayed until you say otherwise -print quality is good out of the box...tuning is always required...unless you plan on printing Benchys all day with the same filament same season and same time of day :-) ODD: -its not silent - pretty quiet you wont hear it in the next room -the keypad had a delayed reaction..so it was press...blink..select -I liked the enclosed spool - a scraper/spatula(for residue and retraction lines) .stl would have made my day. ADVICE: -note i returned because the wifi was erratic with my pc, and personal preference ...I realize i will print alot of large projects, and a z-drive will just suit me better, especially if the supports are on the edge of reasonable. if you are not going with any soft filaments(TPU). and you need an enclosure, and the xyz is your style i would recommend this. Is it pricey? im not sure, i paid the extra 50 and bought the older brother (GUIDER 2) ... show more

  • Excellent from the box. If you want something ready to go, this is great
Size: Adventurer 4
This is a review of the printer itself, it's wifi connectivity, and how it came out the box Set up took maybe 10min. This was my second print which at extra high level took 12hrs and looks AMAZING out the box/no tweaking The fact that I can just sent prints from my PC to it without having to walk up to it use the USB/SD card is awesome for prototypes. I do mechanical prototypes so accurate models (within 2% accuracy which is a lot even for 1500$ printers). For this kind of work I had to find tune the Z offset but only had to do it ONCE. I keep it in my coat closet but tbh I had it in the living room doing overnight prints and even with this being a 1 bedroom apt and it being 20ft behind the bedroom wall, I slept thru it printing just fine. If you want hype control of your prints and supports, use prusa slicer and then use Flashpront to send the files to the printer. Even the expert mode in Flashpront is a bit basic for my taste... But I come from having an Ender 3 where I can to tweak every gosh darn setting to make it print. This printer just prints out the box, it's a tool. A gadget. It's a printer in the full sense, no need to mod it or mess with it The fact that it's enclosed is nice for print quality. The plate is SUEPR STICKY without tape or glue... I'd suggest putting skinny models in a raft so that it is easy to remove from the plate. I had zero issues deattaching rafts from my prints with the basic Flashpront settings. If you have more than a few months of printing experience on an ender 3... You know that's am awesome feat I see this printer in the middle between an ender 3 and a bamboo lab printer for price and speed. Much faster than an ender 3 and the wifi connectivity is worth 100$ in octoprint/raspberry pi parts + coding for sure. I'm super happy w it! ... show more

  • Good if you don't need tech support
Size: Adventurer 4
I've had the printer for about 2-3 weeks. It arrived in New condition. It was packaged with everything that was in the description. It prints well. This is my second printer so I was familiar with slicing software and bed leveling. As you've probably read from other reviews on Amazon and YouTube - the bed leveling is not automatic but it's easy enough to do but it's still a pain to take time to do it. My biggest issue with the printer is that the WiFi does not work. I have tried everything under the sun. I receive a "connection fail" every sing time. More frustrating is I cannot get any solid help from Flashforge to assist me. I have emailed at least three times and no one answers the phone. When I did receive an email response, one division pushed it off to another and that division of Flashforge said it's Chinese New Year and apologized for the delayed response. However, I'm still yet to hear back from them. I'll try one more time to resolve it with Flashforge under warranty before I exchange it. ... show more
