Description

In Flamecraft, 1-5 players take on the role of Flamekeepers, gathering items, placing dragons and casting enchantments to enhance the shops of the town. Dragons are specialized (bread, meat, iron, crystal, plant and potion) and the Flamekeepers know which shops are the best home for each. Visit a shop to gain items and a favor from one of the dragons there. Gathered items can be used to enchant a shop, gaining reputation and the favors of all the dragons in the shop. If you are fortunate enough to attract fancy dragons then you will have opportunities to secure even more reputation. Flamecraft is a fantasy game of city building, worker placement, and hand management for 1-5 players ages 10+.

Takes a bit of learning but once you get the hang of it, it’s so much fun! Endless replay ability! I had fun playing the solo version too, it’s actually a little bit harder than with others so if you want to get really good and figure out great strategies, I’d recommend trying the solo aspect of this game! I’d say this age range is 10+ just because there can be a lot of strategy involved and can last about 1-2 hours depending on how fast people take their turn. The art work is amazing and so cute! This game shines in a few areas. The first - the artwork. The artwork is so cute and fun it is hard to not love the different artisan dragons, the theme doesn’t really play to much into the game but man it is cute. The gameplay. I mean this is why you play a game. This game is best played 2-3 players. Really 4 players makes the turns a little to long. I feel that with 2-3 players the game is quick enough that you want to play another round, which I find is definitely what you end up doing. I ordered this as a gift, it came ontime, and in pristine condition, it is a quality product. As far as the game, its is a Fun and friendly compition, where you can gain additional points by being kind to fellow players. The cards are adorable. The game says 9 and up, but I am sure a 6-7 year old could learn to play if they are familiar woth board games. ... show more

    • What a beautiful game!!
So many things about this game are so great. The artwork is just phenomenal and we appreciated a lot of the silly puns and names of things, although we could have gone without the "omg" one, the coven, etc. I could see how this game could be a bit much for younger kids, but I do feel that the length of gameplay could be easily modifiable if you simply remove some of the artisan dragon & enchantment cards, and perhaps limit the number of shops as well if need be. Our first time playing took multiple hours, but it even held the attention of our two kids under 10 (even with being by far the longest board game they've ever played), although I think they would have been glad had the game had ended sooner. Otherwise, even our younger kids were able to play on their own and keep up with the rules once explained to them, and thoroughly enjoyed it. The length was the only real stumbling block for them in my opinion, although I will say our older child (age 11) who is more competitive had a harder time accepting how much further ahead the adults were (since there can be a good deal of strategy involved). We bought it on sale, but this is one of the few games on the market that I could justify paying closer to the $40/50 price point when you consider the quality of the pieces, the beautiful game mat, and how enjoyable it was for our whole family. It was very engaging and has a lot of replay value. Win or lose, at the end of the game, we still felt like we had a good time rather than feeling like those who didn't win had just wasted a couple hours. Lets be real. This game is all about the dopamine. It is so cute, you get stuff constantly that you can use for points or other stuff. And its fun to play. I really like the solo mode, too.
