I just received this, and I do believe that my package was preopened. The cardboard boxes were ripped inside and 2 bottles were "unwrapped". I do not have anything missing - so that is good. I purchased 2 60L bottles of CO2 seperately. I filled all 3 bottles with water and put them in the fridge (cold water fizzes the best). After 24 hours I took out first bottle, took off the cap, put on the "fizzerator" nozzle and created fizzy water. You cannot over fizz the water as the bottle only holds so much pressure. If you put in too much a "squeaky" noise comes out the top when pushing on the nozzle, which you know means stop pushing. I give 3 quick pushes and am done, take it off the "machine". The first time I did not turn the bottle upside down and when I opened it there was a "pfft" noise, however the water was quite bubbly. The second time I did it, I did 3 bottle turns, not harsh, just tilting to get bottom water to top; take off the nozzle top and it was still just as fizzy. I don't think it produces as much bubbles as polar seltzer water, but pretty darn close. I do like my water bubbly. Hopefully this will continue to work. I prefer this over the soda stream as (1) you dont need to screw the bottle into the machine to fizz it up, it has a seperate nozzle lid that you screw on, then place the bottle on the stand; and (2) my soda stream always "leaked" where the bottle screwed into the stand and I never got enough bubbles out of it; (3) it has a smaller countertop footprint. I put mine in the back corner right next to my smoothie blender and it works fine. The bottles are tall so they do have to be laid down in the fridge, but that is OK with me. I will update if I have issues - I go through at least 2L of fizzy water a day so this will get a lot of use and I am hoping it will save me a ton of money. Right now seltzer water is expensive and I don't like all the flavors. I plan on finding coconut extract (real, not imitation) - I don't like sweetened flavors - for now I just add lemon or lime to it and its all good ... show more

I had a soda stream b4 this and hated that the fiz would be gone b4 it was mixed sometimes. this seals the fiz in and allows you to have better flavor

I use this every day! A canister of air lasts me about a month with an average of two bottles a day. Overall, if you calculate, it's quite the savings. The fun part is we are so creative with it. We make carbonated espresso, fruit infused waters, powdered drinks, and even use the concentrated drops that you find in the supermarket which are way more affordable than the suggested drops. I love this thing! I bought it because I was going through so many one-time use plastic bottles, and I didn't like the impact of that on the environment. This gadget is so easy to use and takes up very little space (unless you count all the bottles of flavored syrup I got to make my soda!). It's quick to make soda and very easy to change CO2 canisters. Yes, the tube that injects the gas is plastic, but if you're aware of this and its potential fragility, you can just operate the unit carefully. I use one hand to start setting the bottle on the base plate and the other to lift the lid/gas pump as I continue setting the bottle upright. Not hard to do. I read that some people were complaining about the long, slender shape of the bottles - that they don't fit in the fridge and that they fall over easily. That is true, but there's a very easy work-around. If you make a bottle of soda filled to the indicator line, the beverage fits very nicely in a 32oz bottle. I have a few empty Powerade bottles that have a nice wide mouth - it's very easy to pour the contents from the FizzPod bottle into the Powerade bottle without spilling or the use of a funnel. Then I put the Powerade bottle in the fridge and pour the soda into my Yeti tumbler as needed. Easy-peezie. Then I just rinse the FizzPod bottle out and turn it upside down to drip dry until I make the next batch. It's nice that they include so many bottles because I understand that they do wear out over time, so having 2 backups will keep me from having to purchase more bottles anytime soon. The only drawback to this, or any soda making machine, is the cost of the CO2 canisters. I did just see a video on how to fill them yourself, and as soon as I buy what I need to do this, I'm going to give it a try. That would be an incredible cost-savings! ... show more

    • Does Not Carbonate as Well as I Would Like

I really liked the idea of being able to carbonate things other than plain water. I wasn't interested so much in carbonating juice and such as I was adding flavoring and fruit before carbonating and being able to use powders. With my Sodastream you add favoring afterwards then gently roll it to mix which doesn't mix it all that well. The thing is this Fizzpod just doesn't carbonate as well as Sodastream. I can tell that drink is carbonated because of the need to burp after a few swallows but I can't feel or taste any fizzy bubbles when I drink, and it took many more puffs of Co2 than it's supposed to to get it that carbonated. Perhaps if the Fizzpod had been my first carbonator it wouldn't have been something that bothered me. But with the Sodastream as comparison I'm not satisfied with the drinks from the Fizzpod. I will say though that the Co2 canisters are a lot easier to load in the Fizzpod than Sodastream, and the bottles setting firmly against the bottom is a much better design. But the bottles are too tall to stand upright anywhere in my fridge, they're not really practical to drink from, and they're too tall for the average bottle brush. With that in mind and I that like my soda fizzier than what it does I'm afraid I need to return it. ... show more

This product is easy to use. You can spend a fortune at a wholesale club buying carbonated water. And you can carbonate your own with this. My system adds alkaline to my water and now it's carbonated. I add a tablespoon of cranberry juice and it almost tastes like a cocktail.
