I bought these for vacation use and when visiting family, with great success, but now use them for everyday reliable feeding. The batteries have lasted for months. In two of them I feed a mix of tetra flakes (broken up a bit) and freeze dried blood worms (to my tropicals) and in another I feed hikari floating mini pellets to my african cichlids. We have one betta fish in a 2.5 gallon tank. This thing is simple to program but it dumps like 25 pellets into the tank. I had to test it in a Tupperware repeatedly with tape over the opening at midnight before departure to get it down to a 50% chance it spits out 1-6 pellets. Somehow the fish survived a 3 day weekend. I like that it drops the desired amount consistently at the 3x times I set. Note: The spot with opening stays at the top and then rotates at the times I set to drop 1, 2 or 3 rotations, then returns to the top.

I purchased two of these feeders for my two tanks. They work well, but need a lot of clearance to dump the food into the tank. Setting the times is a bit tricky. You must read the instructions. Work well.
