I like that this sound machine not only has sound, but lights and a sleep cycle. The sleep cycle is helpful when making a routine at bedtime. There is also on-the-go music so in case you’re not around the device, you always have the music available. I also like that it is connected via Bluetooth and has a pretty good distance range. I was looking for a new white noise for our upcoming baby. Being indecisive, I bought all of them for comparison and had my other kids test them…and now I’m a fisher price convert. I ended up keeping the smart connect deluxe soother and the soothe and glow seahorse. (See my other review where my 4yo won’t give me the seahorse back!) What I found during my comparison is that no white noise has all the features you need/want. The perfect white noise must include customizable noise, on/off timer, and a night light. The deluxe soother paired with a Gosund smart plug is my best recommendation for a white noise setup in the bedroom. The seahorse is good for the car, especially at night or on trips away from home. I really, really like the sleep stages on the deluxe soother. It’s a great way to wind down at bedtime and starts putting ME to sleep! The music/lights get softer/dimmer as they transition from settle to soothe to sleep stages. The light show is also fun for kids. I had no problems with the app or connecting. There’s good customization but you’re also limited by the presets. For example, you can set a timer on the sleep stage from 5mins to 1.5hours, or continuous. Why not 11 hours? Why not turn off at 7am? This is where the smart plug comes in: you can use it to schedule when the soother turns off, although you still have to manually turn it on at bedtime. This soother could become perfect with an update to the app allowing you to schedule when it turns off in the morning. I paid significantly less than MSRP and felt that was fair. If the price goes up, I’d probably recommend an off brand white noise that is blue with buttons and plugs straight into the wall. You can find it in my other reviews. I also kept that one but plan to use it in the hallway as a white noise barrier between baby’s room and the kitchen. ... show more

    • Best Sound/Light Soother on the Market

I found this product months ago when it wasn't available to order yet by the general public as it was a kick starter type product form Fisher-Price. We were struggling with getting our baby to put himself to sleep as he wouldn't take a pacifier and wasn't able to self soothe. Well a couple rounds of sleep training and here we are again with sleep regression at his 8 month developmental leap and teething like crazy, and I was thrilled to find this product had been released! I am overall very impressed with the quality of this product, particularly at this price point! I highly recommend ordering this product for when you are trying to help your baby get a sleep routine that allows them to fall asleep on their own. You can set the songs, lights, and time for each stage--soothe, settle, sleep. The music is really quite soothing, my hubby joked that he wants one for our room! I still like to have our Dohm white noise maker on because it is such a full white noise sound, but we can have them both going at the same time which I love. Only 3 borderline issues: 1) You need a very dark room to be able to see the animal projections clearly on the walls. 2) You may have to play around with finding the right spot to place it so that you get a nice projection that baby can see from their crib. 3) The app isn't the most intuitive and the bluetooth isn't super strong, so you need to keep your device near baby's room while the sleep routine is playing out (but you can move it once you're at "sleep" if you have the timer set to continuous). Overall a really nice soother for $50! I'll be happy to use this earlier on with future babies. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Overall I have enjoyed this product. I gave it 4 stars because I wish the white noise could be louder. Otherwise I like the relaxing music and the projections. It does capture my son’s attention. The music is very relaxing. It might look a little cheap when you get it out of the box but I like the ability to be able to control it on my phone as well as being able to customize the colors and sounds and let’s you create two presets. ... show more

My husband tells everyone how much sleep this thing has saved us. We bought a Hatch Baby first. The Hatch Baby music sounded like it was being played in a tin can and the same song would play on repeat on a 30 second loop. It was torturous. We returned it and purchased this. The buttons on the machine itself can be difficult to operate. Because of this, I don't actually ever touch the buttons. I only use the app. I hope they will update some things on the app eventually - only one person can be connected at a time. However, the app works great - and it will work better the closer you are. Our bedroom is across the hall from our baby's room and it works well. In the middle of the night if our baby wakes and has trouble settling, we turn the music on before going in the room - and almost every time it helps her settle back to sleep. We so rarely have to go in her room at night that when we do have to go in we are assessing her for signs of illness or teething. The app functions well and also offers music on the go - so awesome to play lullabies in the car when the baby gets restless, or at the doctor's office to settle your child. People will comment on the lullabies and how sweet and well behaved my infant is. I grin and say, yes, I think we can all prefer lullabies to screaming! ... show more

Love SO many things about this sound/light sysytem! Everything can be controlled by app, that has even more options then rhe base. I can set it to stay on all night, since our son sleeps better with background noise. I can turn on nightlight to check on him without waking him. I can save 2 presets!!
