It was a good size for my grill. When it was described as having 3 layers, I expected it to be thicker than it is. It's a quiet day today, but it gets windy in the country and wonder how much it will flop around. It does have an easy to clean surface to wipe up spills. I bought this to protect my deck from the heat of my fire pit. Love how it's waterproof and non-slip. This mat also had enough extra around the sides for the ash that flies out from the logs. Now I won't be as worried that my whole deck will go up in flan flames.
