  • Exact Replacement for SST-FLTR tank
Style: Water Heater
As others have said, this is an exact replacement for the tank of the older SST-FLTR. It has three 'ports' at the top. It is identical right down to the option to hang it on a bracket or screws. My original installer sort of tricked me. I didn't see screws on the old one and no bracket came with this one to hang it on, but a quick look at the new one (back) showed me to just lift the old one off. One of the three hoses must have a clip pushed to remove - be careful. The one star deduction is not for the ease of replacement - it is about the cost and the lifespan of this unit. I got 5 years out of the second one and nearly 6 years out of the first one I put in. I love having this and use it daily. But a 3-5 year lifespan with a stainless steel tank?? The heater still worked, but the tank leaked on both the old ones. ... show more

  • Exact, easy to swap replacement.
Style: Water Heater
Sorry for rating a hot water dispenser with warmth and thickness, but that's all Amazon allowed me to do. This was a perfect, identical replacement to the previous insta hot we had which malfunctioned after several years. It was absolutely simple to swap the old and new units and did not necessitate touching or replacing the spigot part. I find the price a bit high for the simple unit that it is but it does what it's supposed to do. The worst part of the experience was when I called insta hot and was only given the part number for the replacement unit with the water filter which I did not want. I did not even know you could still get this unit without the filter until I stumbled upon it myself and called back to verify. It absolutely seemed like they did not want me to know about it unless the customer service person did not know about it himself which is completely inexcusable. That is not good customer service but the unit works perfectly well. ... show more

  • Would not use their products again
Style: Water Heater
I like the InSinkErator hot water systems for their looks, but overall they cost too much and break a lot. I have had the system for about 6-8 years. This is my third tank (though they did send me one for free since it was less than a month out of warranty when failed). Also I have replaced the faucet once - it dripped, and no replacement parts to fix anything is available (replace is the only option, which seems to be the norm for all their products - guess customers are nothing more than a revenue source) --- and now the aerator on the new has gone bad too, which I just unscrewed since I not buying another $200+ faucet). Frankly, there are cheaper more customer friendly systems, I'd look elsewhere. I have only stuck with this (but no more) because it was simpler to replace tank or faucet when they failed rather than buy a new system, but that was before I knew the tank would fail twice and the faucet once (one more failure and out the whole thing goes). ... show more

  • Not as good as the last one!
Style: Water Heater
This is my fourth Insinkerator hot water tank! My last was a high performance model advertised as for commercial use in coffee shops, etc. I'm remodeling my kitchen and had purchased a new Indulge hot and cool dispenser, and thought the water tank was ok. The plumber found otherwise as he saw evidence of leakage and the middle connection broke off when he was replacing the tubing. I searched for the same high performance model but it had been discontinued. The downside of the the whole episode, is this replacement doesn't get hot enough for me. Set on max, it will heat to only 170 degrees. I read that coffee should be served up to a maximum of 185 degrees. It may be ok for some folks, but this tank comes up short for me! ... show more

  • So Far so Good! No serial number on unit?
Style: Water Heater
Need to replace my old hot water dispenser. Super easy to install. No need to re-drill mounting holes. Just 1) shut off water source 2) disconnect existing 3 lines to old water heater 3) removed old water heater 4) mount new water heater onto existing screws 5) reconnect 3 lines to new heater 6) turn water source on 7) connect power of new water heater in. This model is warranted for 3 years; though I noticed it did not have a serial number on the water heater? In any case, hoping the unit will last another 9 years like my old one (stainless steel tank was also construction of old heater). ... show more

  • Exact replacement works fine
Style: Water Heater
I bought this as a replacement for an older unit that had started leaking, as they all eventually do. It was an exact replacement, down to the size and placement of the hanging brackets. I turned off the water supply valve, pulled off the old hoses, loosened the 2 mounting screws, hung the new unit, reconnected the hoses, turned on the water supply, and within a few minutes had hot water flowing. (Not having to replace the hoses or the faucet unit made the replacement job much easier. I would have had to hire a plumber had that not been the case.) The new unit has not leaked or caused any other problem. ... show more

  • Unclear application and installation information
Style: Water Heater
I purchased this product as a replacement for a failed hot water dispenser. The information was not clear regarding installation. First, it was not compatible with my existing dispenser faucet. Second, it requires a special connector for the water supply which is not supplied and has to be procured from an InSinkErator supplier at an exorbitant price. The product information is at best incomplete and at worst misleading! ... show more

  • Start leak after one year and two month
Style: Water Heater
In my last 30 years experience I had replace three times. The first one last almost 20 years. The second one last 10 years and the last one I purchased on Nov. 2020 it start leaking just pass one year on the line connector. The quality getting worse and worse. It is time for me giving up insinkerator. I'm not taking chance for the leak under sink. Good luck. ... show more
