    • Design is good
The overall design is very good, and I love the ability to turn the cover over the switch. My issue with the light is it is not 50 mW, it is maybe 20. My 30 is much brighter, and my 50 I had before put them both to shame.

    • Works as expected but does not seem that bright
I have used a number of fiber lights for troubleshooting and running fiber and while this does the job it does seem a little dim for long distances. It says 50mW but not sure it's that strong. The one I received also was defused oddly so this could have something to do with it. I prefer to not have my test lights diffused so I can see them over long distances, i.e. at least 300'-900'. If you need a basic fiber light this is cheap enough to work in basic situations. ... show more

I really like this optic cable tester meter. It is consistent with all our other Fiber testers. It is definitely worth the money. It is also sturdy and will definitely last long. I highly recommend.

    • A must for fiber connections
I had a COM's closet full of fiber connections that need some rerouting of cable. Not knowing which cable went to certain ports, I used this tester to light the ends of the ones that I needed to move. After connecting the device at one end the beam lighted up the cable ends at the switch that needed moved. Saved me a lot of time and trouble shooting in finding the specific cables. The device also showed me one cable that had a small fault in it that we did not know was bad. Hands down you cannot beat this tool in saving time. The only thing I do not like is the on and off switch is a little touchy, but thats ok because it got the job done. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. This is definitely a must-have when troubleshooting and proofing fiber optic lines. This will also show broken fibers as well. Strong enough so you can actually see the light through the insulation covering by slightly bending the fiber bundle. I actually have two of these from different manufacturers, and the trouble with this design is that the "Off" position is right in the middle of the 3 different settings, so finding the off position is a bit tricky. I don't know why they do this. Off should be on one end or the other (Ideally, and intuitively should be at the bottom.) But they all seem to be like this. Bright laser and pulsed mode so you know that this is your signal. Bright enough that if it’s a low light condition, you can actually see the light through a slight bend in the cable. ... show more

Aloha, everyone. This fiber visual fault locater light is great for finding breaks in fiber cable and locating breaks if they are mislabeled. Mislabeling is something that happens very frequently, many different techs work on these lines, everybody does something different. This really helps save a lot of time and trouble. Pretty powerful little light, good design, well made. When using this light for troubleshooting, Your able to identify which cable goes to certain ports, that saves headaches.
