  • Very happy
Very easy installation and it’s out of the way of everything. The long cord made it easy to put out of the way. It hangs well and you can easily take it off the way and move it. It has two settings. So far in our mountain weather where it gets to about -20, I’ve been using the low setting and will switch to the second setting later into winter. On low you can keep your hand about an inch away and just feel the heat. Second setting is pretty hot to the touch. Hope this was helpful. ... show more

  • Lasted less than a year
Worked OK when I first got it a year ago. It worked, but didn't really seem to make much heat. It's a radiant heater, not a space heater, so this is probably normal. Also, note that most residential heaters are around 1500W, so around 8 times the power. Don't expect the same level of heat from a 200W heater. Anyway, I didn't use it through the warm months of course. Now it doesn't work. The light on the switch lights up, but it stays cold, no heat at all. ... show more

  • A bit too hor on surface
This is my second chicken coup warming pad. The first one I got (different manufacturers) had a hot surface but not too hot in case the chickens were right up against it. This one specifically states, "Do not touch surface." How would I guarantee that a chicken wouldn't touch the surface?? So I am scared to use it overnight. It works well and heats up fast. I put it behind their water container for now to stop the water from freezing. Be careful if you buy this product. ... show more

  • Works exactly as I expected
Using it to heat a 3 floor multiple cat house I made out of an old outdoor play set and it works great! I hooked it up to a thermostat power controller. Very pleased.

  • Not a Coop heater
I have no real issue with this product. It just doesn't meet the needs that I was looking for. I was looking to keep my coop above freezing here in the Pocono's and it just doesn't have the power. That said, I have it on a wall near the lower roost bar. The heater has two settings (high and low). I have it on high all winter. I notice the girls like to hang out there on cold mornings as if to warm up a little. My coop is 4'x6'x5.5' high at the peak to give you an idea of the space. The benefit of this heater is that I wasn't concerned about it starting a fire. It really looks like a flat screen TV. I protected the cord from the birds so from that stand point, the product is rugged and durable. I think if you were using this heater for a smaller more well insulated space, it might be more appropriate. That said, none of my girls suffered from the cold so maybe it did the job intended. I would just caution buyers not to expect this product to heat up a space (coop). It is really more of a proximity heater. Hope that helps. ... show more

  • Wall heater for chicken coop.
Coop warmer is a nice unit to help keep your Chickens Warm during colder days and nights and assist their use with timers to regulate extra warmth.

  • Fast heat but very cheap switch
I am not using this heater for chicken but in a grow tent to keep my plants warm in my basement during freezing winter. This heater warms pretty fast but remember that it is only 200W max so do not expect one of these heating a chicken coop outdoors unless it is very well insulated. To give you an idea, my grow tent is 4.7' x 4.7' x 6.4' in an unfinished basement which has insulation only on the ceiling. Average temperature in the basement is 64F and I use this heater and another 200W chicken coop heater from another brand to keep around 64F during the day and 62F at night inside the grow tent, nothing miraculous but before using those, I had a 1600W portable oil filled radiator heater running outside and very close to the grow tent and the temp was falling to 59F at night. I would say this is an improvement for my grow tent and my wallet since it consumes less power to reach the same results if not more. Now, I found the switch that was supposed to be IP64 to be more on the IP ZERO since it has a 1/16 inch gap all around the plastic cover straight out the box. When I opened the package I heard something moving inside the switch, so I opened it and found multiple bits of plastic that seem to come from around the plastic cover of the switch with no evidence of any damage other than the gap around, so much for quality control... Edit January 30th, 2023: 20 days on and the heater does not heat much anymore, the surface of the heater is warm luck, not much of a heater anymore. Massive disappointment, will see if I can return this. ... show more
