  • Easy to use power backup. Makes a great UPS also.
Great power backup. I also have a 2KW gas generator, but I wanted a generator that would work immediately inside the house, and could run all night without the engine noise and possible CO fumes. Because power outages are rare here in Florida unless a hurricane strikes, the FF generator might sit for a year with no use. So I decided to give the FF a permanent job as a UPS. The max power the UPS can handle is 1,100 watts, the available wattage brought in with the power cord. The generator sits near the kitchen, plugged in to 120 volts, with the fridge plugged into it, 24/7. We do get random power hits, so this protects the fridge circuits as well. I ran a test and the FF will power the fridge for 20 hours, which will take care of any transient problems. A voltage test shows 121 volts AC input with 120 volts AC, 60 Hz out in UPS mode. The 3rd picture shows the UPS mode. Same power in as out, with 100% battery available. I have (2) 100 watt solar panels to help charge the battery during long outages, and the best I can do is get 80 watts from each panel. Is that because they are rated under laboratory conditions? Also, there is about a 9 watt loss bringing the power in thru the solar input. The 2nd photo shows 168.2 watts from the panels, but the next photo shows only 159 watts are usable. I'm assuming 9 watts was absorbed in the circuitry for the conversion. When using the FF during a power outage, the output voltage is only 100 volts @ 60 Hz. I thought this was a little low, so I measured the voltage on my CyberPower 1350 Watt running on batteries. It measured an even lower 92 volts, so it looks like the FF is doing pretty good compared to other makes. The LCD screen stays on as long as something is drawing power from the FF. The screen will dim after 5 minutes of no buttons pushed. Momentarily pushing the main power button restores the screen to full brightness. ... show more

  • Large capacity
This unit is great. It is charged and discharged just about every day. It runs the clothes washer and dryer, T.v., dish washer, and anything else you can throw at it.I recommend it for anyone that needs a power storage bank.

  • Good with caveats
What drew me to the FF Power station was the price (less than $1500 for 2000 wh) and the AC charging speed of 1.5-2 hrs. And in that area it does not disappoint--drawing 1100 watts, in fact, blowing a fuse on a 2000w Vevor inverter I just bought for my car (consider that before being lured by the Vevor price). So it charges very fast in comparison to all brands except Ecoflow. The unit comes beautifully packaged in a plastic sleeve between 2 pieces of thick Styrofoam. Simplistic, easy to return if needed. In the box it seems very heavy, but once out of the box it has 2 sturdy handles on top making it easier to manage. But at 48 lbs it's not going to be very portable for many people. It's the price you pay for a 2000 wh unit. The caveat, for me at least, was that I assumed I'd be able to use UPS (uninterrupted power system) while the unit is off. Negative on that. When you plug the unit in, it automatically turns the unit on and there's no turning it off unless you unplug the unit. The plugs are only "hot" when the unit is on and ac button turned on. I did not want to leave the unit on 24/7 but I would suggest that you do (plugged in). Why? Because if you leave the battery off, the cells will begin to degrade, and the higher the charge, the more the degradation. So they suggest taking it down to a 30% charge to store it. So let me ask you--are you buying a $1500 power station to "store" it, or have it 100% charged in case of a sudden power outage? If you want it 100% charged, leave it plugged in because it keeps the battery "active" and does no harm to the battery. This comes straight from Zack at customer service who talked to the engineer. Kudos to him for walking me thru it. Once the battery is 100% charged and the unit plugged in, the power draw from whatever you have plugged into the unit is synchronized with the power drawn from the grid. As for the warranty, Zack swears they have a 2 yr one, but there is no product registration card and no phone # for technical support. All support is done by e-mail or messaging thru Amazon, and they are prompt responding. But, as helpful as Zack was with every issue I had, this is really not good. The price point was a huge lure for me, but understand there is clearly some added risk compared to one of the name brands. I hope I don't regret it. Having said that, we had a 2 1/2 hr outage just a few days after I bought the unit so I put it to use and it worked beautifully. I had the TV, DVR, laptop and router plugged into the unit drawing about 150w and it showed 10 hrs of battery life and likely would have gotten me thru the entire night. That's what I wanted. We often get outages near or after dark and I often stay up very late--like 5a--and I hate sitting in the dark twiddling my thumbs for hours on end. Now I don't have to. So, summing up, I guess you gotta ask yourself--do you feel lucky? Because if you do, you can save a few hundred bucks with this brand over some of the other 2000wh units, get a fast charging speed and good customer service. That said, you know the drawbacks. Now it's your call. ... show more

  • Pretty good, but beeps/clicks at night with solar
Overall, the power station does what it's supposed to. I'm using it in a metal building to power lights and charge tool/mower batteries. I have 4 100W solar panels connected running at 24V for charging. The only thing I don't like is when the sun goes down, SOMETIMES the unit will continuously beep and click when there isn't any power coming in from the solar panels. The fix is to just unplug the solar power wires from the unit. A little annoying, and I have to remember to plug the solar back in when I'm finished for the evening so it will recharge the next day. The only other feature this doesn't have that would be nice if it did is the ability to add additional batteries for expansion. Not counting off for this because I knew beforehand expansion wasn't available; just perhaps a note for the manufacturer for future models. ... show more

  • My first Solar Generator
I received the solar generator sooner than expected here in Los Angeles. The battery was at around 30% so I plugged it in to a wall outlet and charged it to 100%. I then plugged in my full size refrigerator and timed how long the fridge would run before the generator reached 40% remaining charge. The fridge wattage ranged from 115 - 150 watts when the compressor was on and 0 watts when the compressor was off. The generator powered the fridge for 12 hours with 40% charge remaining. I continued to 32% charge remaining for a total of 14 hours run time. Update 3.24.2023 Because the seller has listed the fuel type as gasoline Amazon will not accept returns.
