  • Great value!
Style: Auto
Got these to install on a a cheap AR-15 build I’m making for range days and fun. Nothing too special or expensive about the weapon so I wasn’t worried about cheating out on parts. With optics, sometimes you can spend more money on the optic than the darn rifle! For $30 I didn’t expect too much but I must say I’m actually impressed with the quality of this product! They’re built perfectly fine and I don’t see any quality control issues or any flaws. They attack on to the rail just like you’d expect them to. The flip up/down mechanism works without fail everyone I’ve attempted to use it. And the sights are very “bright” in contrast and easy to acquire when targeting. Again, for $30 you really can’t beat the value here! Be sure to zero in your weapon after installation and you’ll be good to go! Very impressed indeed! I hope this review was helpful to you in some way. Cheers! ... show more

  • These flip up irons are surprisingly good! Intelligent design and lots of features, few drawbacks!
Style: Auto
Well, to say I was surprised by these sights, would be a massive understatement. These sights have really impressed me with the quality of construction, materials utilized, and intelligent design choices, all for a fraction of the price of the big names. Now, lets get something out of the way. Some folks out there might be wondering why this idiot is installing sights and an optic on a section of picatinny rail instead of a real firearm? Great way to destroy your credibility, eh? Well, the answer is simple, a picture is worth 1000 words, and y'all don't want to read that many words, especially from me. SO, in order to be able to convey a clear and helpful demonstration (in the form of pictures) to anyone that is interested in this product, and in order to keep from running afoul of the Community Guidelines, I elected to avoid showing an installation on a real firearm. Now, let's get on with the review! The first thing I noticed is the finish on these aluminum sights. It is a nice consistent black anodizing throughout. All the hardware appears to be steel, although I saw no evidence of any thread locking compound on anything. They come well packed, and include a properly sized allen (4mm hex) key for installation. The most striking feature is the embedded fiber optics, orange in the front sight post, and green on either side of both apertures on the rear sight (four fiber optic inserts on the rear alone). The rear sight includes a standard large ghost ring aperture for CQB/low light (enhanced by the fiber optics in this case) and the smaller peep aperture (which has its own set of fiber optic inserts). The peep sight is the only one that includes the windage gauge on it, so bear that in mind if dialing windage into your sights. The gauge is completely obscured when employing the large ghost ring aperture, so presumably any windage should not be dialed while using this aperture. (There are two pictures that show the windage gauge, and it being obscured, if one cares to look for it). On the topic of windage is where I will include my biggest complaint with these sights. The windage drum is far, far, FAR too easy to move. In flipping the rear sight up and down, I inadvertently moved the drum a few clicks multiple times. It would be very easy to have your windage zero moved without your knowledge, and I have not worked out how to fix that aspect yet. The elevation adjustment on the front sight has a very satisfying detent built in, and does not seem like it would be as easy to move inadvertently. The flip up and stow mechanism worked flawlessly for me, except in the case of actually installing it in the last slot of a picatinny rail on the device it was intended to go on (not pictured) where it prevented completely stowing the sight due to the peep aperture hanging down below the sight body. The sights are designed to have certain parts nest in the open slots on a standard picatinny rail when stowed (folded down). This aspect I did show on my rail section in one of the pictures. It is probably my favorite design feature, because it illustrates the level of detail included in the design of these sights. For the cost of these sights (hovering just under $30 at the time of this review), I feel like they are a fantastic bargain. For the types of activities I engage in, these sights will be perfectly suitable in terms of quality and durability, especially considering the reliability of modern optical sights. I am very pleased with these sights, and after some locktite on the hinge screws and mounting screws, I only have to worry about that doggone windage drum. ... show more

  • Not Good
Style: Auto
I ordered 3 sets and all didn’t function as intended. 1st set wouldn’t flip up when the button was pressed, returned those for a replacement, the replacement seemed fine but failed on it’s first range day. Once again the button didn't work and the sight wouldn’t flip up. I was stupid enough to try a third set and they arrived with the adjustment knobs loose and definitely not tight to hold a setting. Sent that set back and finally just bought the brand we all know and trust. Mag…. Don’t waste your time on these. ... show more
