We bought this to replace a different brand that squeaked nonstop. I wasn't sure this would be better but it really is. The colour in the picture is drastically darker than what you actually get. A smidge bummed it was a very light blueish greenish grey instead of that nice dark grey pictured. I put this together in about an hour. if you have help it should be really fast and easy. Great storage height underneath. It's about 12". Very sturdy and solid. No banging headboard, no squeaking frame. The only complaint i have is the mattress slides off with the slightest bump...
