I was skeptical on purchasing this after reading the reviews. Honestly I'm happy I purchased it. A lot of reviews said it was flimsy which I wouldn't agree with entirely. It definitely was not made to be a jungle gym but for an adult using it as room decor I've had no issues. It's not as if I'm flailing around in my bed kicking it or anything of the sort. It holds up my canopy beautifully and I love my room so much more with this new addition. Take into consideration that most reviews are generally from people who have had a negative experience. Most people who are satisfied with a product tend to just keep it to themselves and just be happy about it. However I would like to say it is worth the price and it's pretty with a canopy.... just not made for children in my opinion. ... show more

While this product didn't work it for me due to the fact that it is "flimsy" *compared* to the fact that it was going to be for a very hyperactive boy - I world recommend it for a teen or adult (or more gentle child than my little wild child) - and the instructing included were some of the clearest instructions (with labeled sections of poles) that I've ever encountered from an Amazon product. ... show more

    • Perfect as a temporary mosquito netting frame

I brought some of my deck plants inside when our deck was being redone and, unbeknownst to us, they harbored mosquitos. After a few days of utter misery, I decided that mosquito netting was the best way to be able to sleep without being bitten up. But how? Well, this frame and some good mosquito netting are proving to be the solution my problem. The frame was easy to set up - in spite of not-so-great instructions. I taped the pipe joins with gaffer's tape because they slipped apart a little too easily. I had to weigh down the "feet" with bricks to keep them in place. It's not terribly sturdy and wobbles easily, so I don't think it would be all that great for a kid's room. I think it's a bit expensive for what it is, but I was truly desperate for a quick solution which it provided. This is a frame for quick, temporary fixes or decorating on a dime. It's not nearly sturdy enough to substitute for a real piece of furniture. It supports the mosquito netting, but I would hesitate to put any heavy material on the frame. Bottom line: It's perfect for what I needed it for, but I think it's fairly pricey for a wobbly metal-pipe frame. $50 would be the right price for this. ... show more

Based on other reviews, I taped the poles to the connectors so they wouldn't pop out, but then one of the connectors itself broke apart within a month. It's too difficult to super glue so I taped that together too. It is flimsy. Trip a little on the curtain and you'll break it. The connectors are painted like metal but they're actually cheap plastic, I have no idea why they thought they should save money that way. Makes it bend and warp instead of staying sturdy. Was easy to assemble and does its job but not very well. ... show more

Wow! I'm so glad I gave this a try. I wasn't even sure if I'd like having a canopy bed, but now I can't imagine it any different, lol. This happened to work out perfect for me, because I could set it up within my bed frame (my frame is king size and mattress is california king size, so there is room on each side as you can see in the pics). It sits very sturdy, but you know, I don't have anyone swinging from it, so it's sturdy enough for my needs, haha! I am also in a basement bedroom, and was really glad the height was just perfect for fitting under the drop down part of my ceiling. As for assembling it, I did it alone, and it was easy enough for me to figure out. It took maybe 30 minutes? One thing, make sure to either use the gloves they provide, or be ready to just wash your hands well after handling the metal rods. After putting up a sheer canopy and some lights, it's like I've totally transformed my room. One friend who saw it even said it makes my bed look HUUUGE- she just never really noticed how big of a bed I had before, lol. In any case, I'm loving it, it was easy to put together, and I would recommend it. ... show more
