As always, so so happy with the quality... I've worked in metal manufacturing before, it is unbelievable these are available at this price. Felco makes the best blades, and the best "joints" where the blades are held together, I've personally never had to tighten anything felco makes, and the blades, even when worn down, are still so functional you could argue you would never have to sharpen the blades. As expected, these perform well. Very sturdy. This is the pair that is always kept in the house so that I can be sure that they didn't get left outside. They are heavy so if doing a lot of overhead work, a ladder might be needed to avoid working over your head. These are killer pruners.

These are literally no joke, kinda heavy but made for cutting stuff you would use a bow saw for, these aren't for snipping, get the smaller ones. I will certainly never even consider another brand. I've been using the 23.6-inch loppers for over a year, and they have held up well. I mostly use them to prune Victorian Box Trees and Rhus shrubs (lemonade berry), and they cut through the 1 to .5-inch branches very easily. What I like most about them is the strength-to-weight ratio. These loppers are lightweight and easy to tote around when navigating through densely wooded areas. These loppers do everything they are supposed to do but I believe they could do it better. Don't get me wrong, I'm pleased with these loppers but when you compare them to other brands, there are some notable differences. I own a pair of Fred Marvin loppers of similar size and I prefer the Marvins to the Felcos. The Marvin loppers open much wider to handle larger branches. The Felco loppers have a different type of angle and because of that they don't seem to be able to open as wide. They open so narrowly, they're almost like hand pruners with long handles. I use it to cut Litsea wood of about 1.2 inch or less in diameter into wood chips which I can then steep for tea every night. Litsea wood is quite hard (like tropical hardwood) and I can't go beyond 1.5" as it would slip with this lopper. I bought a 19", the shortest of the series. Edit: For over 0.5-inch diameter, it's not possible to have one clean cut across the grain. I have to align the wood diagonally and cut it like cutting a pencil, rotate it as I go. ... show more
