    • Great Writing & Originality
This entire series is a delight. The author's originality, in a genre literally flooded with books, is commendable. Her Fae mythos and world building are believable and congruent through all three books. The author's talent is also evident in the virtually perfect balance between character development, plot development, and paranormal elements. I have especially enjoyed the way the author continues to expand the paranormal elements, develop the characters, and deepen the plot as the story progresses from book to book. Also worth noting is these characters are neither immature nor overly mature for their age. They come across as real teens I could meet in my own neighborhood. There is no graphic violence and no gratuitous sexuality. There is romance and realistic attraction. Last but not least, I think it takes great skill as an author to bring each book of a series to a clear finish, as this author does, yet have one or two plot lines in place quietly waiting for their full story to be told. I appreciate knowing how this part of the story ends! No frustrating cliff-hanger endings here, just the pleasant anticipation of hearing the rest of the story. This series is one of the most satisfying and well-written reads I have in my library. I recommend you give it a go! ... show more

    • Third times the charm!!
I can sum this book up In the words of Jeremy "It's fashizzilly freakin fantabulous". Third book of the series and each one just gets better and better!! I laugh, I swoon, I 'm on the edge of my seat, it's awesome. The ending to this book was what I've secretly been hoping for since I started reading the series! As always, I adore Jeremy and love the phrases he spouts off! I'm making a mental list to use them in life. Zappadoodle, futher mucker marmalade madness, skank-ho hot mess in a gi-gah-munga can of nasty crack worms, and so on! I tend to make up phrases like this myself and only my husband and best friends can understand me so I relate so well to him! I bookmarked so many favorite spots in this book that I am not sure I left more than a few pages without bookmarks! I love all the pop culture references and nicknames for the main characters as well as the ones they use for some of the smaller characters. This series is a highly enjoyable YA fantasy. There are so many fantasy creatures involved in these books, each book introduces a new one and keeps things new and exciting. I am looking forward to Book 4. Now that I am all caught up, when it is released it goes to the top of my reading list no matter what! I must read more about Ruby, Jeremy, Anya, Nick and of course....Brennan. *swoon*. ... show more

    • Warning: this book may turn you into a hopeless romantic.
We’re back to the fascinating and magical world of Ruby Blue. Her relationship with Nick is tested by the arrival of an unlikely suitor. New threats strike close to home. And Ruby grows into her powers. It’s incredible how the author unravels this engaging story. The stakes keep getting higher. The quick pace of the first half becomes a runaway train in the second half; I dare you not to finish it in one sitting. And how cool is that the cast of fantastic creatures keep expanding? The description of the magic rituals (and even the reasoning behind them!) is a great touch. After reading this, I totally believe magic exists. Somehow the author turned up the already high doses of suspense, fantasy, and humor in this one. And the romance! It is so sincere, intense, and heart-melting. Warning: this book may turn you into a hopeless romantic. I love the series. I can’t wait for the final book! ... show more

    • A nice continuation of the series, but . . .
OK, I really like this series (I have also reviewed "Ruby Blue" and "Deja Blue") and this was a sweet and entertaining third book - but it wasn't my favorite. I am trying to analyze why . . . for some reason Jeremy was sort of TOO over the top this time out, and although I know the introduction of new supernatural creatures is kind of a hallmark of this series I was a little nonplussed by the introduction of - wait for it . . . Bigfoot (but the reference to those ridiculous Bigfoot shows was funny). Maybe I was just in a "craptastic" mood when I read the book (and yes, that word has been added to my vocabulary). On the plus side, Ruby still seems like a real teenage girl - down to the confusion about why pain-in-the-ass Brennan seems to be getting hotter than Mr. Hotness himself. I was wondering how Cassar (and Ruby) was going to dump Nick, who is a perfectly sweet and normal (read: clueless) teenage boyfriend. But what human boy could compete with a Fairy Prince who is not only gorgeous but has saved Ruby's life numerous times. And he declares his love in ancient Gaelic . . . I am glad that this is a series instead of a trilogy, I mean it has to be, right? We still don't know who is trying to kill Ruby, or why. So Ms. Cassar, when is the next book coming out? ... show more

Sky Blue by Julie Cassar Rating 5***** This series has become one of the best indie book series I have read. Once again we find Ruby and her group of friends destined for trouble. Only this time it comes in the shape of a short Katrampy female from fey. Ruby is just started in her senior year and things quickly start being far from normal. First there is terrible storms. Then Homecoming becomes a disaster. It doesn't take much to realize that the fey are up to mischief yet again. Mischief that may cost Ruby everything. There isn't any way not to fall in love with Ruby. Her humor and treasured Converse sneakers are just to dir for. Each page is an adventure that sucks the reader in from the very first page. I am so vested in each of these character. I can't sell you enough on each of these novels. This is by far my favorite of the series because I have a serious book crush on Brennan. Could any character be any more dreamy. Editing and plot is superb. This is a book you can't go wrong with. A definite top recommended read for the year. ... show more
