Two of the pliers were sealed in plastic and are a bright pink color. The other 3 pliers were not wrapped or sealed, and they are a much duller pink color and came dirty, scuffed and appeared to have been used. We've long been a two-pliers household, and sad to say both of them are so old they've got rust around the metal edges. When I saw this set, I admit the bright cotton candy pink made me skeptical that they'd be of much real substance. And boy, was I ever wrong about that! These babies - there are five pieces in the pink carry bag - are heavy and strong enough to tackle the most stubborn stuck-on bolt I've ever encountered; even my husband, who really isn't much into pink, agreed on this point. Made from alloy steel, each of the tools - needle nose, diagonal, slip joint and groove joint pliers plus an adjustable wrench - is noticeably heavy; all worked fine except the wrench, which takes a little work to adjust. The rubbery coating on the handles makes them comfortable to grip and pretty much nonslip as long as your hands are dry. I can't say we'll use them a lot - and actually, that's a good thing because it means nothing in the house has broken and we don't have any projects to assemble at the moment - but I made a place for them in our tool drawer and will keep them handy. The set would, I think, make a great holiday gift, especially for a new dormitory or apartment dweller. Very happy with them! ... show more

I loathe trying to find things in my husband's tools. Ugh! So I got my own, and in pink so he will hopefully put them back where they go! I thought maybe he wouldn't even use them, but he does, because they are easy to find. Luckily they are so distinguishable from his, he does put them back with my tools.
