The cover is magnetized so it will stay closed and so far works as intended. this cover fits like a glove. it is not as sturdy as the one I have for my older HD tablet, but I did not spend near 50.00 for this one, either. I plan to just have it so I can read and watch videos, it will be closed when not in use. I opted to not put on a screen since this has a soft cover and I don;t have kids here. the wake / sleep/ seems to work just fine ...there is no hand hold strap so I am working of something I can maybe tie on one side . ... show more

This is the second one we've had for her fire. When that one wore out, I ended up getting a new case from this manufacturer and for her new larger fire. They are very sturdy at a good price.

    • Yes, it does fit the 10.1 next generation Kindle.

I took a chance on this after a few reviews said it didn't fit. I don't know what kind of tablet those people were trying to stuff in there, but it fits my new Kindle perfectly, and the buttons and camera hole are in the right places. It's very thin compared to the ones I got from Fintie. The device snaps into a plastic shell, leaving the entire surface of the Kindle unobstructed by any sort of border. The cover folds in 3 places, but it doesn't really form any kind of stand to lift it more than an inch or so. I don't care about that, though. I have a foam lap stand made by Lamicoll (highly recommended) anyway, so I don't need the cover to do that. It's pretty new to me, so I won't rate it's durability or sturdiness yet. The quality control at Fintie went right out the window, and the spine on the last cover I bought from them is completely blown out after only a year. We'll see how this one holds up, but it seems to be of fairly good construction. As long as you have the right Kindle, you'll be happy with this. ... show more
