Description

Factor 55 Hawse Fairleads are the best in the business. They’re CNC machined from thick USA 6000-series aluminum bar and thicker than the industry-standard 0.75" size to extend rope life. Additionally, the slot opening is taller to allow larger ½" tube thimbles to pass through. All Factor 55 Fairleads are coated with a durable MIL-A-8625F TYPE III gunmetal gray hard-anodized finish with a laser-engraved logo. That finish is not a cosmetic thing. The hard coating resists abrasion, damage from extreme side pulls, and is one of the top-five hardest materials known to exist. Plus the low friction coefficient means less wear and tear on your rope. For synthetic rope only and mounting hardware is not included. Made in the USA. Overall Dimension: 12.35" x 3.25"

Great fit & finish. Fast delivery. Five stars so far, just installed. As you can see in the photos Warn crapped the bed on the fairlead delivered with my ZEON 10s. One winter (less than 2,000 miles) and it looks like hell. Likely would destroy the rope if used. The winch itself took the elements well but the awful clear coat they used on the fairlead caused the pitting to be much worse than had they left it bare metal. I will update in Spring of 2020 with a comparison. This is what I received from Factor 55 when I inquired about the corrosion resistance is this product: We only offer our Hawse style fairleads in a Type III hard anodized finish due to it's corrosion resistance and hardness properties. A Type III hard coating will survive the ASTM 5% salt spray test. In addition, you will discover that most aluminum parts designed for the sailing industry are also hard anodized for these reasons. Of course, if deep gouges into the native aluminum are experienced, you may see some localized oxidation but this will not spread throughout the rest of the fairlead. We have over 10,000 of these fairleads used worldwide with no oxidation issues. If you require further information, we suggest that you use the web to review information about the Type III hard coat anodizing process. Regards, Factor 55 I bought stainless steel fasteners to mount the Factor 55. Nuts out, as I prefer the appearance to bolt heads or acorns. Shame on Warn. $1200 winch... I would have been happier had they not included a fairlead at all. 2/29/2020 update... Just pulled off the fairlead to inspect while cleaning the rope. Have driven several thousand miles this winter. Salty mess... I didn't even bother taking photos as this thing looks exactly the same as when I put it on. Worth every penny ... show more

This is a very nice fairlead and I am extremely disappointed that it is too wide to fit on my Rokmen Merc Front bumper. I debated on grinding 1/4” to make it fit but ended up going with Warn’s answer to the Factor 55. The Warn epic was designed to compete with the Factor 55. Factor 55’s hawse fairlead was superior to anything they offered so Warn copied their thickness and type III anodized finish. One thing to note is the color. It looks black in the picture but is more of gunmetal color. If you have room for this beauty don’t hesitate. Go with the innovators not the imitators and get the 1.5” factor 55 fairlead. Factor 55 is an American company and everything they make is made in the USA so support a group of enthusiasts that support American labor. You won’t be disappointed. ... show more

Very nice upgrade for my Smittybilt Fair Lead. This one is 1.5 inches thick. Very nice rounded curve for your line to ride/ rub on when using the winch. I feel much more comfortable seeing the line ride on a long smooth surface vs the tight curve with an edge. Factor 55 knows what they’re doing! Bolt hole diameters are also different. ... show more
