It uses aa batteries. It is not Waterproof. It was have of the price. So far it works great. This is a great gift for anyone especially teens. I recommend the Waterproof recharge able one for college students. They cost more.

I'm no expert on beauty products but from what I've seen on the market this product meets expectations, but does not exceed. The attachments work great and my face feels very smooth after using it. however the speed of the brush does lessen when it hits your face and it becomes weak. The face brush is not waterproof. It even states that on the handle of the device. How can you wash you face without using water. What’s the point of buying it if you can’t use it the way all the other face brushes can be used…with water. And, inside the box there’s a card saying to go online to get an extra set of brushes.
