A little goes a long way with this lash cleaner, and it is extremely gentle. It foams up really nicely when using, and you do not need much at all. I haven't had any bad reaction on my skin from using it- no irritation or redness. The eyelash cleaner doesn't burn and does not have any unwelcoming fragrance to it. I also really like the brush it came with as well and it is soft and kind on your eyes and lashes. You probably could use any brush you wanted as long as it is soft and small.
