On an every-day basis I use a liquid makeup remover, but don't like to travel with it because it has leaked before. These pads have been my go-to for years. Literally I've had the same container for years and they don't dry out. I wear waterproof mascara and these actually take it off. Please note they are OILY. If you are using these and planning on re-doing your makeup right away you will have a mess. I wear a very sticky glue for my false half lashes daily. I don’t like the harsher products, and I don’t want to scrub or pull the skin on and around my eyes. This was an excellent surprise. These are small pads, which is perfect for the glue and makeup around my eyes. It’s greasy for sure but the size and pad allow you to control the areas you wipe, no dripping. I personally would not use this on my whole face but I am so glad to have found something strong enough for my lash glue that is completely soft and easy on the skin around and on my eyes/lids. I initially purchased these makeup wipes because I thought it would be a better bang for my buck. I liked that they were small as I only ever put on eye makeup so I figured getting 80 wipes for about $6 was a great deal. Boy was I wrong. These wipes are EXTREMELY oily. They leave a layer of greasy shine on my face which results in me scrubbing my face in the sink every night for ten minutes just to make the feeling go away. The oil is so intense that getting it in your eyes is unavoidable. It stings and makes it hard to see, even after I’ve washed my face. The wipes themselves are rough and not gentle on the skin at all. My eyes burn after trying to wipe off my makeup because it doesn’t take it off easily and you’re left scrubbing like a mad person. I use Two Face “Better Than Sex” eyeliner and I have to scrub for about five minutes to get it all off - and I only put a thin line in my eyelid. After having them for two weeks and barely using 20 for the 80 wipes I got, I went back to buying my Neutrogena wipes because they are soft and much better for my skin. Don’t cheap out. These aren’t worth it. Take care of your skin and buy the better wipes, you’ll thank me later. ... show more

I bought these a long time ago and couldn't find them for years for some reason. I found them here on Amazon. They really take off all your make-up, including stubborn mascara, eyeshadow and eyeliner. I don't wear waterproof mascara, so I'm not sure about that. But, I will tell you that the pads are oily. If you don't mind oily removers, this is it. I only need one pad per eye. It is black when I'm done. Takes it all off, doesn't leave any trace of make-up whatsoever. I rub lightly until it's all off, you can turn it around and use the other side. After all my makeup is off my eyes, I wipe my eyes with a warm washcloth to get the oiliness off. That's it. I will continue to buy. In my experience, the oily pads work much better than ones without oil. ... show more

When I first received the Almay eye makeup remover pads, I was surprised by how small the container was. The lid screws on nice and tightly though so this small container would be good for traveling without fear of it leaking. There are 80 almost paper thin pads and they are quite small at about 2 inches wide. The biggest thing I noticed is how greasy/oily they are! I use one pad per eye to remove eyeliner and water-resistant mascara and while they definitely remove makeup, at 57 years old I don't find them particularly gentle but actually a little rough on the delicate skin around my eye (not soft like a cotton wool pad) - I have to be very careful when I use them just to wipe/dab gently so that they do not pull or tug across my eye. The price is good but overall I find them quite wet and greasy on both my fingers and around my eyes and probably will not repurchase them when this container of 80 runs out. ... show more

Because of the slimy residue required to remove the eye make up, afterwards I will use a mixture of cleaning clear astringent plus witch hazel on the same cotton ball. Works great to get the slime off.
