Description

Legend tells of a demon with such inhuman strength that just one of his hairs, properly harvested, could make a rope of untold power. So we descended into the bowels of hell and brought back… The Devil's Hair. Not really. But it would be cool if we did, right? No devils were harmed in the making of this synthetic rope, but it is legendarily strong, and amazingly light. It's so light that it floats, actually. The proprietary SynSteel braided line has the highest strength-to-weight ratio available (6,000 lbs. breaking strength); there's nothing lighter and stronger. Devil's Hair is easy to handle. It doesn't burr, fishhook or kink like cable, and it doesn't have a memory. So go on, and get the devilish strength your winch demands and order up a dose of The Devil's Hair. For optimal performance and maximum life, we recommend 5600.3096 MAGNA Polished Aluminum Universal ATV/UTV Hawse Fairlead for Synthetic Rope and 5600.3090 Universal ATV / UTV Rubber Hook Stopper & Line Saver.

  • Perfect Setup
Color: Red
This is a perfect setup for my Warn winch. I got it extra heavy, since my SxS isn't lite weight..

  • Fine little replacement, glad I did it.
Color: Gray
This item wraps up well, and is a great improvement over the wire rope style I had before. The loop end is obvious in the picture, yet the other end is only taped down, which I wasn't quite used to. No special round ball like we had in the past on old wire cables either. All I did was a sort of webbed style wrapping before winding it around the winch. On mine (a basic Superwinch maybe 2000lbs), it goes through the spot in winch spooler, after a little convincing. If you want a decent way of spooling that isn't done at the factory, drop a comment below, i'm glad to help. It helped avoid crimping and knots. ... show more

  • Remove and replace the flat spring
Color: Gray
Works good. But I had to remove the flat steel spring that held the original steel cable tightly against the windings around the drum. I recommend removing it because it is designed for steel cable only and can easily cut the synthetic cable if it gets to far to the side of the drum. I replaced this steel spring with a piece of flexiable plastic and it works great. I also put plastic spacers along 1 side the drum so the synthetic cable could not get pinched in either place. I had to do this because I intended to use the winch in situations where the synthetic rope would not always be taut. A steel cable cannot be used at all in a non taut conditions with out jamming. So the revision and purchase of this rope was well worth it for me. ... show more

  • Kinda pinkish salmon, going to return
Color: Red
I don't doubt that at one point in time this rope was actually read but it looks like it's been sitting in the sunlight for quite a while the strands are white throughout along with strands that are still red giving it a salmon appearance or pinkish I'm going to give a 3-star rating because I'm sure the Rope works fine but the color is important I know that these things do sunbleach after well but I'd rather it's sun-bleached in my possession then receiving one that is already lacking color ... show more

  • Worth the $
Color: Green
Lifts 250lb rocks up 35ft out of the creekbed without a problem, doesn't snap coil like a steele cable when released Paid for itself the 1st time I used it, installed in less than 5 mins

  • It's a rope
Color: Red
Of all the synthetic ropes I've owned, this is one of them. It does not kink up on the winch, and does a fine job of getting me out of places I shouldn't have gotten into.

  • best winch rope i have used in the past 15 years.
Color: Gray
I have used this several times over the summer and fall while out riding with the guys, it has performed flawlessly. I love the fact that i can drop it in the water and the line will float. No having to feel around in the mud looking for it when you are in knee deep water. I recommend this to everyone who enjoys getting in the mud while riding, you will eventually get your bike stuck and this wont rust and decay nor will it kink. ... show more
